Early High Grade

Miss out on one C grade but got this. Someone removed all blue from the barrels. The bores are great. I think the stock is a replacement but nevertheless an early high grade dollar grade.

What a great gun! Are you planning on having any work done to it?
|
What a nice gun Travis!
That forend key is very unusual - please show us more pictures of it from various angles so we can see its profile better. |
I really like that shooting scene engraving.

Nice find. A gun worthy of some "making it right again".
Buttstock is an incorrect replacement. Forend is original. |
Yup, very unusual (unique?) key.
It would be nice to see the complete buttstock - both sides - before passing judgement on its originality. |

Yes indeed!! With the smoke cloud coming from the muzzles - a very nice touch! |

I think at least I will get the barrels refinished. There is information so I might get a letter also. Serial is 3870 with 32 in barrels. I will see after I get the letter if I get more work done.

I recommend Dale Edmonds for the barrels. His work will blow you away. Other good options include Brad Bachelder. I have personal experience with Dale

There is nothing about that stock by way of form or checkering that is correct for an early high grade lifter.
The fit looks pretty good though from what I see. |
