David

Josh Loewensteiner 10-15-2014 01:09 PM

See you there!

John Truitt 10-15-2014 02:03 PM

Ill be there with 11 different Parkers ready to go at noon on Thursday.
(28 hammerless and 20 to 10 gauge hammer and hammerless)

Mike.Smith 10-15-2014 05:51 PM

I'll be there mid-day on Thursday as well. Many guns in tow, from a 10ga Parker down to a 28ga Hammer Gun, and even a Fox SBT gun thrown in for good measure. I plan to compete in every event I have a gun for this year, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Wait, John did you say you're bringing a 20ga Parker Hammer gun? I'd sure like to see that one. :corn:

Mike

Carvel Whaley 10-15-2014 09:17 PM

Gary Carmichael Sr 10-18-2014 08:29 AM

George , Look forward to seeing you, Mike, and all the rest coming in on Friday, John did you say you were bringing a hammer twenty Parker? Gary

Rich Anderson 10-20-2014 07:16 PM

When the dog goes on point I'll yell pull that way I can be there in spirit. You boys have a great time keep your head down and the gun swinging. I have to do the same thing on Grouse but it's hard sometimes.

Mills Morrison 10-25-2014 08:02 PM

Great to see a lot of you folks, some old and some new.

Tom Carter 10-25-2014 08:16 PM

Parker-Ssmith Challenge

For those who have not heard: Team Parker won the Fall Challenge.
Cheers, Tom

Ed Blake 10-25-2014 08:49 PM

Great news! So how nice is the weather down there? Wish we could have made it, but life is always getting in the way of a good time.

Tom Carter 10-25-2014 09:10 PM

Weather

Hi Ed, The weather was perfect! Could not have been better. Tom

David Dwyer 10-26-2014 06:53 AM

Mills
This is the best Fall Southern yet!! Old the Old crew" and a bunch of new faces both Parkers , Smith , Fox . The Parker-Smith Challenge was fantastic, not just because Parker prevailed but how the event has grown and enjoyed by all. I really enjoyed the composition of the new teams with a more varied participation. The Sat. banquet was just great, food, awards and friends.
David

Mills Morrison 10-26-2014 03:20 PM

Julia and I were talking that it was the best so far.

edgarspencer 10-26-2014 03:35 PM

I sure wanted to be there, but couldn't talk anyone from NE into driving down.

Mills Morrison 10-26-2014 03:56 PM

I'm the same way with ne shoots

John Truitt 10-26-2014 09:08 PM

Thank you David Dwyer and Tom Carter. You guys did great.
Already looking forward to next years event.

Also thanks to Rick Hemingway (BWQC) and John Liles (LCSCA).

You four made the event work and work well. Participation increased, interest in the event increased, friendly competition and fun were had by all.
Well done guys.

Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!!

FRANK HALSEY 10-27-2014 01:44 PM

PICTURES!!! WE NEED PICTURES. Sorry I was not able to be there. Made plans but the heart had other ideas and put me in the hospital for the 4 days that I was suppose to be there. Glad everything went well for Parker. Frank

David

John Truitt 10-27-2014 02:10 PM

Frank,

I am sorry to hear about your heart. Get well soon!!
We need you healthy for the Spring Southern.

Get strong you are in our prayers!!!!

John Truitt 10-27-2014 02:15 PM

One of the many great things this weekend was Mills, Julia, Mills, and Harry all together having a great time.

They all know how to have a good time and enjoy themselves.

Great family!!!

Dean Romig 10-27-2014 02:21 PM

Yes Frank - Get Well!
Okay, what's the story about the Mason jar in front of Dave Fjelline with the HOA Non-Original Parker written on it... is that some kind of trophy? BTW, Dave's eye doesn't look good (no pun intended) does he shoot "lefty"?
Who is the lady in the straw hat across from Mike Koneski?

Thanks John. They really enjoyed the festivities and meeting everyone

David Dwyer 10-27-2014 05:26 PM

OK, easy answers first:that is mike's wife. The jar is a ?joke to point out that several of the guns used are questionable :) Dr T won HOA and most of the other events he competed in. I had the privilege to shoot with him every day and he is amazing! We had fun every day.
Come on down next year and join us.
David

Dean Romig 10-27-2014 05:41 PM

I'm sure I would have known her if I could see her face. We shot at Mike's place last June and visited with her in the clubhouse.

Congratulations John - your shooting abilities certainly amaze me!

Next year?..... we'll see...

Dave Suponski 10-27-2014 08:01 PM

Dean, Mikes wife is the wonderful lady with infinite patience at Ernie's Hidden Hollow that does the sign-ups.

Frank, get well...your in my thoughts.

Mike.Smith 10-27-2014 09:07 PM

Not just any trophy Dean. As you can see from the previous picture, John took home quite the collection of glassware, but he confided in me before he left that this one meant the most. :rotf:

In all seriousness though, this was a fantastic event as usual. I for one was happy to hear that Rick is going to put this shoot on again next year. I shot 13 events and burned through around 800 rounds this weekend.

Mike Koneski (who took home the other half of the weekends awards) and I spent so much time on the course that I hardly had time to take any pictures. I did manage to snap a few prior to the LC Smith vs Parker Challenge. Many congrats to the Parker team who won 247 to 220. I love the format that was used this time, allowing the high Jr, Sr, Lady and even some wildcard entries to join in the fun. I think our concurrent squad outshot the main LC Smith squad, and four out of the five Parker shooters in the main squad shot 28 out of 30!

Many thanks to Rick, the trappers who did such a great job all weekend, Bill Kempfer and the Vendors who participated. The only downside was missing out on a cherry underlifter that I had my eye on, but it didn't last long. :banghead:

Why was Mills absent?

Mike.Smith 10-27-2014 11:21 PM

Just for the awards picture. Open Bar in the Vendor Tent?

Tom Carter 10-28-2014 07:51 AM

Absent shooter

Mills was child sitting so Julia could have some relief and did not know Parker had won or pictures were being taken. Cheers, Tom

Mills Morrison 10-28-2014 08:08 AM

That is right. Julia was tired from watching them during the shoot

Hated to miss the photo. Did not get any of me with the trophy but did get these. They are better looking than I am anyway.

Question for you Southern Gents: Why is it that the real deal "recipe" that comes in Mason Jars is so smooth - despite not having been charcoal filtered, aged in charred oak barrels etc etc?

Mills Morrison 10-28-2014 07:42 PM

The Fountain of Youth is in Lynchburg Tennessee. That's why it's so smooth

Tom Carter 10-29-2014 07:07 PM

The good stuff is distilled multiple times.

That's why you often see it represented by a Mason jar with three or more X's
