Check out this 28" 5lb - 9oz bit of Repro eye candy. This shooting stick will be a bit of enjoyment when these old stumps of mine put me on the log out in the grouse covers. I know, wood is very subjective, but this stick really lights this old Dutchman's fire....... and Yes, the other side is just as good.

Now, do I keep my NIB, 26", SST. FPG, 5lb -10oz Repro, with all the candy. ie: serialized box, paper wrappings, plastic sleeves, inner triangular boxes, case with the early non canvas soft cloth case cover, instruction manual, guarantee card, and dealer card, etc.etc? It's serial number is below 50, and it also has killer wood. Do you guys think these 28 Repros are going to continue to climb in value when weighing the uncertainties concerning guns and hunting looming in the future, and remembering that there have been some 3500 +/- 28ga’s made?

I don’t want to sell it, but think about my wife and family having to deal with my collecting passions when the time comes. My kid jokes that he is checking out ahead of me so he doesn’t have to deal with my mess of STUFF. Your gun Tom, has about the nicest piece of Claro as any Repro that I've ever seen--it's understandable that it lights your fire. It'd light anybody's fire! Please show us the other side, too!

Having accumulated several Parker Repros myself, three of which are 28's, I'm betting on their value to continue to rise over the long term. Having said this though, the market of them has paralleled our national economy. A year and a half ago, 28-ga. Repros were hovering in the $6000 range for a single bbl. gun, today they linger in the marketplace with a $4000 ask.

I think the value of the 28 gauge Reproductions will continue to escalate especially in view of the values of original Parker 28's. For more and more shooters an original is getting further and further away from the ability of an average shooter's ability to buy one so the Repro will continue to be more and more desirable.

The price on my 28 gauge straight grip, double trigger, beavertail, two barrel set hasn't changed a bit. It is still $2695, shipping included. I guess that price stays the same until I decide to sell it.

Hi Tom--good to see you surface again. A super 28 bore. I've got 3 myself and they are fun shooters. I'll tell Hank Peters I had a Tom Kidd sighting!!! Many fond memories of looking at your collection after trips to the Allentown show. And who could forget the ride we had in your Fox automobile!! Hope our paths cross again. Be well!

Snow's flying and it looks like NY grousing is done, so I'm back with a photograph of the passenger side as requested. Not many fly's hanging out there either. The single trigger is for my aging fingers out in the cold northern Pat covers. My VHE is a double trigger gun. I just had the girl at the P. O. weigh this 'pretty' 28" Repro and it actually weights 5 lbs - 7 ounces and the 26 incher weighs 5 lbs - 10 ounces, go figure! My 28" VHE also weighs 5 lbs - 7 ounces. ( 2-11 weight bbls) It has been one of my favorite grouser's since the late '60s. In fact it has two of my grouse doubles to its credit. Just like Murphy's, the price on the VHE is $550.00 FOB Wellsburg, WV. Never to be for sale, as it is already 'Trusted' through to my grandson.

Thinking of Wellsburg, I used to go to the Baltimore show with Paul Carson and he had an A1S 12, a FE Fox 12, and a LeFever Optimus 12 on his table back when we were up in the Hotel and the asking price was either $1250 or $1500 each, can't remember exactly, but all three went back to WV, but in short order both the Fox and the Parker ended up in upstate NY. I have no idea where the Optimus went. Ha, I had to pass on an original Fox FE 20 gauge, with original gold ducks on the bottom (letters), at the old Greensburg Show, 40 some years ago, because I couldn't get my hands on $1250. That gun went into the mid south and now is hiding in a bank vault two owners later and not for sale. Ahhhhh, Those were the days!
