Some Phenomenal Parkers- October James Julia
For those more advanced than I (takes awhile to upload):

I noticed the 8ga Lefever and the 8 ga Parker. The bores are both around
.900'' is that normal? |
I sure wish I could attend this auction, not to buy, just to look. Anyone else receive their catalog #2 from Julia? Probably the most unbelievable auction of world class doubles ever assembled. If you like Model 21s, this is definitely the place to be.

What did the 8 gauge Parker and Lefever go for ?
|
I saw a british 10 gauge underlever hammer rifled double gun in there I woulda shoulda kouda liked to have LOL's !
And about a dozen 1861 and or 1863 contract muskets . |

Well that is if it met the reserve ! |
Both of those guns made a reserve, if one was placed on them.
|
Some fine pieces remain unsold, including a few good Parkers, offers still being considered as of this late date.

That depends on where you live. I live in New Hampshire about 2 hour drive from the auction and I would ship it home. You see, New Hampshire has no sales tax and the savings of taking position at home more than offsets the cost of shipping & insurance. Maine has a health sales tax and if the difference is great between your home state and Maine ....... you get the idea.

Amen to that, Craig

If I have over 10 G's tied up in a gun I'd much rather have it in transport in my vehicle rather then a common and I do mean common carrier . |
