Lodging:
There are a block of rooms set for the PGCA at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fairfax, Virginia. The room rate is $79.00/night. Be sure to mention the PGCA.

Just a heads up. Our rate of $79.00 is good for Thursday through Sunday.
I was planning on driving down on Wednesday and they wanted to try and charge me $165 for just that one night. odd when the normal rate for thurs - sun is $109...
For my Wednesday night stay I got a rate of $80 through Groupon at the Wingate/Wyndam in Chantilly.

Dean Romig 08-05-2014 08:12 AM

In that case, Many, many Thanks to Josh Loewensteiner for securing the $79 PGCA room rate for a weekend in the tourist season in the D.C. area.

Brian Dudley 08-05-2014 09:17 AM

I was in contact with the manager about helping me out some on Wednesday night and they would not budge. So I told them they wouldn't get anything out of me for Wednesday.

Just a reminder.....We are just over a month away from this great annual event. If you are planning on attending please send in your payment soon.

Friday Shoot Before 2014 Annual Meeting

Are there still plans for a Friday 9/12 shoot in association with the 2014 Annual Meeting? If so, what, when and where? Thanks.

Bill Murphy 08-14-2014 02:35 PM

Even though I only live 40 miles from the hotel, I can't stay at home for $79.00, so I may spring for a room.

We're hoping to hear about this from our events coordinators.

Billy Gross 08-30-2014 08:30 AM

I see: "Social hour and Silent Auction will start promptly at 6PM with dinner at 7PM". In addition, are there times for the meeting, exhibits, and tours? Thanx, Billy

Dave Suponski 08-30-2014 08:21 PM

Billy and All, The plan is to have Philip Shrier and Doug Wicklund take groups on guided tours of areas of special interest to our members beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday.

Also we would like to invite all attendees to consider bringing one or two of their highest condition guns regardless of grade or gauge for the peoples choice award.

Dave Suponski 09-04-2014 09:20 PM

Gentlemen, Please be advised that any payments recieved by me after Tuesday September 9th your name(s) will be added to the list of attendees but you will need to pick up your tickets from Deb Frey as she will have a limited number with her.

Just don't want to have tickets in the mail come the Saturday of the banquet.

Larry Frey 09-09-2014 09:11 AM

This is just a reminder to those folks that will be attending this years Annual Meeting to bring along that check book so you can bid on some of the great items available in this years Silent Auction. The donations from members and businesses have once again been overwhelming.

We have a two day Snipe Hunt with lodging in Florida donated by PGCA member Bob Hayes. Our friends at RST have once again donated several cases of their fine shells. This year for those that fly to the event we will have gift certificates and the shells will be shipped to your door so no excuse not to bid. We will also have certificates from some of our more talented members like Brian Dudley good for checkering and Hammer Gun Screws by Tom Carter. Burl Bob has again donated one of his hand made wooden bowls with the PGCA logo. There will be books and tools, a Parker alarm clock, coffee grinder and vise. Also an assortment of cleaning and reloading tools as well as other items sure to be of interest to our members.

This years Annual Meeting should be a great event and we wish all attending safe travel and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Aside from the museum tours, when and where will some of the exhibit Parkers come out of the cabinets for closer inspection? Will this take place at the dinner or during the afternoon?

Dean Romig 09-09-2014 10:35 AM

Bill, to the best of my knowledge, if any are taken out of their exhibit cases it will be Saturday evening at our banquet. Josh may have other information but I have not heard any confirmation of such to date.

Bill,
Don't forget to bring a couple of guns for the Peoples Choice Awards. This years event will feature high condition Parkers of any grade.

Mills Morrison 09-09-2014 01:14 PM

Have you done 0 Frame 16's as a peoples choice theme yet? Just a suggestion for a future year

Larry Frey 09-09-2014 02:08 PM

Mills,
We did 16 gage guns at Pintail Point about 4-5 years ago and we saw some really great guns. I also recall C grades at Louisville with about 20-25 guns of almost every gage. And last year was of course A grades which again brought out some great guns.

Eric Eis 09-09-2014 04:07 PM

Wish I could join you guys, just too far to drive by myself. Would have liked to display the 16 ga new in box skeet gun, maybe I could win since Jimmy would not be displaying his A 1 special this time  Hard for a V grade to compete against a A1, hell I just would like to take first place instead of second.. once :)

Dean Romig 09-09-2014 04:34 PM

I'd like to take 3rd just once... :banghead:

Josh Loewensteiner 09-09-2014 05:26 PM

Hey Guys-

The People's choice is all set up and we have room for about 20 guns. It should be a lot of fun and there are a number of minty and fine guns coming out.

The annual meeting at the NRA museum will be both fun and relaxing. For those staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, there will be a treat and information for you when you check in to the hotel.

The NRA opens at 9am on Saturday morning and the PGCA has a fully guided special tour with the NRA Museum Curators at 1pm. It will be great. I know the Invincibles will be a highlight for our tour.

The dinner is coming together really well. Come hungry, and thirsty as the cocktail hour starts at 6pm and dinner will be served starting at 7pm.

We'll have the silent auction running, the people's choice running, and the special presentation by Louis C. Parker, III. It is going to be nice and should be a fun and elegant evening for all those who can attend.

Josh Loewensteiner 09-09-2014 05:26 PM

Post deleted- double posting

Bill Murphy 09-09-2014 05:37 PM

Will Louis' presentation be during, before, or after the cocktail hour? I would not want to miss that presentation.

Josh Loewensteiner 09-09-2014 05:40 PM

Bill- Louis' talk will be after dinner. Dinner is seated and starts at 7pm. I would guess he will be speaking around 8 or 830. I agree 100%- for anyone interested in the history of The Charles Parker Companies, his presentation is not to be missed.

Robin Lewis 09-09-2014 05:54 PM

Anyone have a digital camera to record the presentation? Maybe it can be placed on our web site and viewed later by members that couldn't attend?

Chuck Bishop 09-09-2014 06:04 PM

Robin, I plan on bringing one.

Brian Dudley 09-10-2014 07:58 AM

See you all down there. :bigbye:

Bill Murphy 09-13-2014 03:13 PM

Linda and I are heading on down in a very few :bigbye:.
