Even though these are terrible camera phone pictures, I couldn't wait any longer to share a few photos of my new find. Lady luck once again shined her light. She's a 12 gauge with 30" barrels:)

Congratulations Larry! B grade?
Stunning!
Larry: I don't think you find to many Parkers with what I believe are Egrets on the side. I would love to own that one. Thomas
Grade
She's an A from 1891, the highest grade made at the time.
Simply Stunning ! Lucky fellow is an understatement.
Enjoy! Best regards. Jeff |
Very unique gun!!!
Larry wow that's a great Parker. Thanks for posting the pictures.
Is that a World's Fair gun?
My grandfather almost ordered a Parker like that but he told me he wanted to be able to look back on his life and have no egrets.
An A
WOW, just WOW !!
Very nice gun, Larry. Thanks for sharing the photos. Please post more pictures, esp. of the left side, and bottom of the action and the fore end. They are a real treat.
I wonder how long Greg has been waiting to use that line? Great work, Greg.
Another member owns a great C Grade World's Fair gun from the same era with egrets. Post your serial number and we'll compare it to the World's Fair gun list.

Well you sniffed me out Murphy. I wanted to hold on to that information until I was able to take better pictures, but this is too exciting to keep to ones self. This is one of the three the Parker Story talks about being made for the the Columbian Exposition, the four hundredth anniversary celebration of the discovery of the new world, held in Chicago in 1893. This is serial number 66201! Wouldn't it be great to see all three together once again. |
Larry,
Congratulations, that is a really great old Parker. When you click on the third pic a couple of times you can really see the wear on the checkering in the wrist area. It makes you wonder just how much shooting and handling it would take to wear walnut checkering almost flat? I've picked up too guns recently with similar checkering and think it adds so much character to the gun. |
Wow, what a beautiful Parker! I love fish-tail top levers, btw.
Home run.
Hit that one out of the park. Congrats b
Fabulous A!!
An un-messed-with A of that vintage is the "Holy Grail" to many of us, and you've found one. |
Larry, you need to order a letter on your beautiful gun. I am sure it has some neat history.
Larry;
What a find! I'm always interested in where these beauties are found. Would you share with us the story of where she came from? |
History
Yes Mark, I will order a letter and once I get all of the back ground information I will share all of it with the group. I do feel blessed on this one.
Great gun Larry!!
Can you show a picture of the floor plate engraving. These early AH guns were engraved by Gough. I think you may find his initials or signature on the floor plate. I have found three different styles on early AH guns where he marked his work. Patrick |
Good for you Larry....can't wait to here the
The story !! |
I have seen and held and disassembled this wonderful AH.
It was on the People's Choice table last night. Its engraving, though well loved, is stunning. I am happy to own its Exposition sister and Larry and I will do an article. |
WOW !
An amazing find! Stunning!
A gun like that can make your day! Congrats on a wonderful gun with a lot of history, Gary

These birds, if they are egrets, must have been popular at Parker in 1891 or so as I have seen three different A grades with them. Here is a photo I have previously posted of a 10 ga. (also a show gun) with the same birds on the floorplate.
Yours is a very cool gun. Something about those A grades from the 1890-93 era that is special and my favorite. |
The left and center birds, in my opinion, are Great Blue Herons.
That center heron has caught a very neatly depicted 'sea serpent'. . |
Marvelous gun! More pictures please, because that is a close as I'll get to one like that. Thanks Larry.
Flamingos? At least they're not pink :).
The one on the right appears to me to be a Sandhill Crane. The eye marking and tail at least makes it appear to point tonit being a Sandhill.
The gun looks even nicer in person. |
I saw this gun in Vegas and it is amazing!
Beautiful!
I inspected this gun at the Vegas Show. I counted 9 game scenes including on the bolsters and trigger guard. This is one of the nicest engraved Parkers I have ever held. Fantastic!!!
