It is a 12-gauge, 2 5/8 inch chambers, 30-inch "Fine Damascus" barrels, 14 1/8 inch length-of-pull, 1 1/2 inch drop-at-comb, 2 5/8 inch drop-at-heel, weighing 7 pounds 7.6 ounces. |
WOW WOW!!! Great Lefever Dave!! You have done great! Beautiful example.
Absolutely beautiful Lefever Dave. C grade?
Oh my. Congratulations Researcher.
Very nice!
Wow! Nice....
Dave, that is a wonderful gun! Just beautiful.
I'm guessing about a 1900-'03 D grade. I just adopted a second EE Lefever 12 ga with chain damascus 30" barrels. I get it Monday! Edit: I missed the picture of the water table. It is a CE grade! Great find, Dave! |
Dave, that is very nice, elegant. Finding and acquiring these fine guns is not easy. Congratulations.
she s a beauty for sure..the old lefevers are really well built guns..i have a e grade 10 ga that my dad gave me that has the best grade of figured wood than any of my other guns..your gun though is about good as it get s...charlie

By the serial number it is of 1899 vintage, if the published serial number chronology means anything?!? The right watertable is stamped C. The machining for the ejector parts in the frame eradicates most of the last digit of the serial number on the watertable, making me wonder if this gun went back to Syracuse to add the ejectors.
Uncle Dan made some fine guns! Thanks for the post
absolutely beautiful!
Beautiful! gary
Condition
Obviously a very high condition C grade, what a find!
Congratulations. And BTW thanks for all your great contributions on this web site. I've learned a great deal from you. |
That is a nice place to wander off to.
The wandering off was from my usual boxlock Parker Bros., Ansley H. Fox, NID Ithaca, etc. doubles. However, it does kind of match up with one of my Tobins --

Dave- thanks for sharing photos of your beautiful new toy!
I have an I grade that Brian Dudley is brushing up for me. I doubt seriously that one will be the last.
I bought an H grade at a gun show late on Sunday when the owner was not looking to take it home. It has at least E grade engraving. Late production gun.
Researcher, your Lefever is exceptional. Do you have production date by serial number or know where to find them?
Very nice Dave. A really lucky find. Congratulations!
You DOG!! Guess if you have to wander that would be a damn fine reason to drift slightly off course. Beautiful gun, Dave.
