Grand ole Ithaca. Congrats. Gerry Andrews is near you and would bring that wood back to its original glory. Gerry is a VERY good stockman. Good Luck with her.
|
very nice Harold- looks like a steal
i like the chain pattern, i don't think I would redo anything on that one- |
A wonderful old Ithaca
|
Jim, I know Jerry quite well, we go way back, and yes recutting the checkering and refinishing the stock would really make it stand out. I'm about 20 min from Jerry's house.
I doubt I do anything with it now, however. |
Harold, great gun, congrats!! I have always loved the Ithaca graded guns, and someday one will be in my gun safe also, enjoy.
|
Very nice I would not do anything to that great looking gun either.

I really like chain Damascus and I will probably have to buy a gun with one at some point. I blame big friend ten and his beautiful L.C. smith. I really like the Ithaca do not understand why there is not a Ithaca double gun collectors association. It seems like any time there exists a collectors association for an existing gun company like Remington of Ithaca there is not a specific association for double guns.

Harold;
+++++. Really nice find. Make sure it follows you down to the Southern. |
My last Lewis 3E had those same barrels. They are a beautiful pattern!
|
just wondering, I assume the chamber length is short(2 5/8)?
I have some light loads I shoot thru my Fox pin gun, fluid steel, but maybe should order some 2 1/2" hulls to load for the Ithaca. I will bring it to the Southern |
mighty nice gun you have there those barrels are sure nice...charlie
|
I think that is the cheapest I have bought a gun since the late 1980's, but it is a quality piece. I guess I would have to put it on a scale with a GH parker, maybe even a DH.
Oh, and it is rock solid tight with the top lever just to the right. |
Nice find. And the guage is................................? Or did I miss that.
|
Matt, it is a 12. Sorry, I had mentioned it earlier in a different post before I posted the pictures. I sure wish it was a 16 or 20.
|
Harold, I would'nt concern myself too much about the 2 5/8" chambers. If the BWT is sufficient and the forcing cones are original, your 2 3/4" low pressure loads that you shoot in your Sterly should be fine.
