Tha book jumps from 130975 to 133788 but if you own the gun you should check to see if there is information enough to support a PGCA Research Letter.

Thanks for looking Dean, how do I check?
I believe I have a G grade - 1 1/2 frame 30" Damascus straight stock
with a Hawkins pad.
I will post some photos after work.

Go to the PGCA home page and on the left column click on "Research Letters" and when the next page pops up click on the red "here" ...

I did this with your serial number and found that "there are surviving factory records"

A research letter is $60 for non-PGCA members and $40 for PGCA members. This would be an excellent opportunity to become a member and save yourself $20 on this and future letters... and there will be future letters - you can't own just one Parker.

Hi Dean,
This is # 2, I have a D Grade that I received advice on from this forum in reference to lightening the front stock, I was just about to start when the G fell into my hands,
Now that they are starting to covey up I will get the membership. I truly appreciate all the help and experience extended to a greenhorn.

Ken, we were all greenhorns once and, in fact, I consider myself to be one in the presence of some of the Parker gurus in this organization. We all learn and teach together here - it's a 'give and take' relationship.

Dave Suponski 01-19-2010 09:33 PM

Yup,Thats spot on Dean. I usually learn something new here if not everyday damn near it.

I like that term Covey up. I buy one Parker the next thing I know i have 6 in the safe. these things are prolific breeder's Thank God I'm not married, i couldn't stand up to the scrutiny.

I cannot upload photos, keep getting an error message, will have to get the IT dept
(the kid )to figure it out.

Ok pitcures are posted under album "G Grade" Note the finish on the stock
With info from the site removed the stock and have started to remove the built up grime,
I am thinking that I will strip and do an oil finish with hints that I picked up on the forum,
It looks as if someone also blued the barrels, I can see the damascus pattern under
the uneaven finish, If this is indeed the case what process would I use to remove it?
Ken

I heard vinager will remove the blueing so you can see what you have for a pattern left on the barrels.

Dean Romig 01-24-2010 11:59 PM

That's a pretty decent looking Parker. It doesn't look like it has been abused at all so be careful how far you go in the refinishing of your gun.
