Don't worry Harold I'll keep you posted on when, where to shoot and where to stay, I'll even help you spend your money on a new Parker:rotf::rotf::rotf:

Really Harold, what are friends for? Don't miss this shoot.

Harold Lee Pickens 01-03-2014 06:09 PM

Yeah, I will turn the big 6 0 that weekend--I'm sure you guys will help me celebrate.

Daryl Corona 01-03-2014 06:12 PM

We will try to make it a b-day to remember.:bigbye:

Brian Dudley 01-03-2014 07:16 PM

Any info on a PGCA tent and if tables will be available if there is one?

Rich Anderson 01-03-2014 07:29 PM

I'd say it's to soon for that Brian. We usually combine forces with the LC Smith group and have a common area.

Brian Dudley 02-10-2014 07:54 PM

Anyone know who is heading up the Parker/LC Smith tent? How do I get a table?

Dean Romig 02-10-2014 08:01 PM

Send a PM to Carl Brandt

Jay Oliver 02-14-2014 03:31 PM

I am a new PGCA member and live in eastern North Carolina. I just got into Parkers, and was thinking of going to the Southern SxS for one of the days. Its a 2 1/2 hour drive for me. I would like to check out the events as well as the vendors.

I have never shot at any Vintager events. Although I haven't done it recently, I did shoot CAS for awhile a few years ago. Is it a matter of getting the proper clothes along with following the other requirements on the Vintager website? I always hate being the "newbie" at such things, but if nothing else I would at least like to spend the day learning for next time.

Thanks,

Jay

Larry Frey 02-14-2014 03:54 PM

Jay,
There are no requirements for dressing in Vintage attire. In fact very few do. Just dress appropriately for the weather and come and have a good time.

Dean Romig 02-14-2014 03:54 PM

Jay, you've absolutely GOT to go to the Southern. It is truly SXS "overload" in every respect, even for those of us who go every year. Don't miss it!!

Rich Anderson 02-14-2014 03:56 PM

Jay welcome to the PGCA. Just come as you are and have fun. The PGCA will have a tent down by the 5 stand course, we share it with the LC Smith group so there will be lots of people to talk to and learn about two great guns.

Jay Oliver 02-14-2014 04:46 PM

Great! I'm in:)

Also Jay we will be shooting Thurs, Friday, and Saturday morning at Drakes Landing. A bunch of fun no score cards one of the nicest Clays courses that I have shot, so join us there for a morning or afternoon shoot and go the Deep River and enjoy all the vendors and the Parker/LC Smith shoot. It's a great time....

Jay Oliver 02-14-2014 05:02 PM

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I haven't shot at either of those courses. Around here I have shot clays at Rose Hill and Hunter's Point in Washington, NC(which is just 30 minutes from me).

I am looking forward to driving a little west in April.

Thanks,

Jay

Rich Anderson 02-14-2014 05:05 PM

Jay please join us for a round or two at Drakes Landing. Send me a PM and I'll provide you with the details. You will love the course.

Mills Morrison 02-15-2014 11:47 AM

They tried to get us to join the Vintagers and my wife put it best "I want to be able to wear my jeans for this"

wayne goerres 02-15-2014 12:59 PM

mills you know they had Levies in the late 1800s.

Bill Murphy 02-16-2014 08:28 PM

Jay, what town do you live in? I spend a little time on Route 17 going past Hunter's Pointe.

Jay Oliver 02-16-2014 09:36 PM

Hi Bill, I sent you a PM

Randell Beck 02-18-2014 10:01 PM

You dont have to get wrapped all around the axle on vintager attire - even at the vintage cup plenty of people shoot in jeans, or shorts and a shirt. Its not all vintage. To be in the spirit I shot this past year in a vest over a normal shirt and khakis, with hiking boots. it was vintage enough. No one even looked twice. Its not a problem.

Brian Dudley 02-28-2014 08:11 AM

Is there any particular host hotel for the Southern with rooms reserved? Or does the PGCA have any?

Dean Romig 02-28-2014 08:20 AM

Brian, the PGCA had blocked a bunch of rooms but I'll bet they're all gone by now.

Try them anyway... The Hampton, 1904 So. Horner Blvd., Sanford, NC, Tel: 919-775-2000

Good Luck, Dean

Harold Lee Pickens 02-28-2014 08:31 AM

Brian,
alot of us are staying at the Quality Inn in Fuquay-Varina.
PH # 919 557 2009. Mention Parker Gun Club and rate is $69

Brian Dudley 02-28-2014 08:52 AM

Thank you.

Bill Murphy 02-28-2014 08:59 AM

The Hampton was fully booked, including our rooms, when I called a few days ago.

You fine gentlemen are welcome to join us at the above listed hotel. It is about half way to the location of the big shindig at Ruth Chris... Better bring a tie and sport coat

Brian Dudley 02-28-2014 09:06 AM

I called the Hampton and they said rooms were still available. But I liked the rate at the Quality inn better. I have a reservation there.

Needed to save some money to pay for a foundation dinner ticket :-)

Mills Morrison 02-28-2014 09:10 AM

See you at the Quality Inn. Make sure it is the one in Fuquay Varina.

Brian,
Also save a couple of dollars and shoot a round at Drakes with us, you will love the course:) We are going to shoot on Thursday ( Friday and Saturday too) and that is before the Deep River is open so come on and shoot a round with us, you will have fun...

Brian Dudley 02-28-2014 09:32 AM

Yup... Judd Parkway.

FRANK HALSEY 03-10-2014 12:55 PM

Is there going to be anyone at the southern s x s that can fix a SBT from opening up when shot? I love shooting my Parker SC but it is now its opening when I shoot it and I don't what to hurt it. Thanks, Frank

Rich Anderson 03-10-2014 03:25 PM

I believe Brian Dudley will be there but I would contact him prior to the Southern and discuss the proble this way perhaps he can bring the correct tools to make the repair.

Eric Eis 03-12-2014 05:48 PM

Just got an email from Drakes Landing, hours are 9-6 Thur and Friday, and
8am opening on Saturday and the new course will open this weekend so we will have 2 SC courses to shoot along with the 5 stand. Looking forward to it.

New course at Drakes? It would be hard to improve on their first course!

Mills Morrison 03-12-2014 06:55 PM
