2014 - Planning Ahead
 

It gives me a great deal of pleasure and pride to make this post. With the assistance of another PGCA Member or two, and quietly behind the scenes, I've reached an agreement with the renowned Sporting Dog Photographer -Nancy Whitehead.

For those who are familiar with her work in both the printed media (catalogues, books, magazines, etc.) or on the Internet, it should come as no surprise that her work is in very high demand. For that, I feel honored that she would choose to work with the folks on this Forum and offer to sell her 2014 Planner to all that frequent this forum, whether a PGCA Member or not.

To make a long story short, when I received my copy of her 2014 Planner & Datebook, I was floored by the quality and the photos contained throughout the publication. In short, there are over fifty color plates contained in its one-hundred twenty pages. And frankly - I know any Sporting Dog owner will appreciate it for the same reasons I do - it is stunning! (Some of my photographs of this same planner are embedded above & below.).

After consulting with Ms. Whitehead, she and I are further pleased to announce that a percentage of EACH Planner sold to Members of this Forum will be returned to the PGCA and earmarked for our developing Youth Program - something in which I take a great deal of pride. The amount will be based on the number of copies sold individually and collectively - and could be as great as $3.00 per planner sold. And yes, they make tremendous gifts to employees and co-workers alike and, yes -they are available in quantity.

I have this 2014 Planner, filling it in now, and it is a work of art. Nancy has an Elhew pointer and travels the US for sporting scenes.

I trust we will be willing to work with other vendors that have items of interest to our members and are willing to provide a kick back. Time will tell. Appears to be a new rabbit trail for PGCA.

Who is "the we" you are referring to? If you mean "I'll do this again" - I don't know. Will you do "it"? I have no idea, actually.

Hope you do - as then you can put 100% into something without any chance you'll gain personally..

If that's your "rabbit trail" - I sure hope you find it to benefit the PGCA Youth Program.

Nancy is the best. This datebook is excellent. Trigg Davis' (Anchorage) little black cocker spaniel is pictured in September in this datebook. She hunted with him in Minnesota this year also. I gave her a private Alaska slideshow on the computer that she will be talking about for some time.

In addition to Trigg's spaniel, the March 3-9 page shows a pointer near, of all things, a rabbit trail.

So John, its everything you said it was, and more.

Too bad there isn't any GSP's in there...

And in addition, for those liking German Shorthaired Pointers, there are a brace shown on the Feb 17-23 page and a single on June 9-15.

And for Bill, there is a wirehaired pointer or drathaar on another page.

I ordered two of these planners and received an email from Nancy the next day. She informed me that my order has been shipped. Fast service with a status message indicates that Nancy knows how to conduct business!
