Larry,

Those are the most realistic birds that I have seen on a Parker!

Very nice indeed!

Harryreed 11-19-2013 09:01 PM

What great photos!!! Wish I could do that.

The above engraving of the dog makes me wonder. When ordering higher grade Parkers, would Parker allow the customer to request engraving from a photo or sketch. The post above seems to have a personal request by customer. If so I would order one tomorrow, at any price, if the floor plate or side panel plate had this pup on it.

Here's something you don't see very often. This is on a BHE 12 live bird gun.

Dean Romig 12-26-2013 11:08 PM

Rich, can you tell us the name of the original buyer of that BHE?

The gun was ordered by C. E. Robbins of Fargo, ND on 12/15/1903.

Another deer.

Rich Anderson 12-28-2013 10:06 AM

I'd like to know what the engravers at Parker were thinking when they would put deer, elk ect on the floorplate of their shotguns. Upland birds and waterfowl would seem a more logical theme.

Bill Murphy 12-28-2013 10:19 AM

Rich, C.E. Robbins was quite the shooter. He was elected President of the North Dakota State Sportsman's Association in 1896.

I had to go to the side to get large animal.....hope that's not offensive to anyone.

Eldon Goddard 12-30-2013 11:16 AM

Mr. Romig how do we know that was John Browning's? I recently went to the John Browning Museum and asked about him owning this Parker. They claimed the only record of John Browning owning a Parker was a DH.

Mills Morrison 12-30-2013 11:23 AM

:envy:

Bill Murphy 12-30-2013 02:47 PM

OK, Dean, since we as an organization have decided not to drag our collection around as we did in the past, please give our poster a synopsis of the provenance of the Browning A Grade, preferably with a scan of the order book and stock book pages. Thanks.
