8 gauge DH pictures from the VC

Here are a few pictures of a 8 gauge DH displayed at the Vintage Cup last weekend. What cool gun in my opinion, the gun had not been priced yet. Straight grip and steel barrels.

thanks Craig, any specs?

barrel length, frame size?

Craig Larter 10-05-2013 09:44 AM

It was a 6 frame as I recall, 34" barrel length. For a avid waterfowler like me it was a real thrill to shoulder it and swing it on a fat drake black duck!! I had to be careful placing it back on the table next to a 28ga AAHE priced at $350,000.

What a gun. Maybe Craig would PM me about the owner's name and I'll put up a "For Sale" sign in front of my house.

It is so beautifully proportioned you can not even tell it is a 8 gauge until you look at the stock.

Craig Larter 10-05-2013 01:38 PM

I went over to pick up the gun so many times I must have worn off half the remaining CC!!! Bill believe me the thought of selling my house entered my mind!! That gun would be my holy grail but pictures will have to do, darn!

Steve Barnett

Don't let Mills or Charlie see these pictures. Charlie would probable sell his farm.

:shock::bowdown::envy::crying:

wayne goerres 10-05-2013 03:34 PM

I thought the excitment might send you over the deep end.

CraigThompson 10-05-2013 05:27 PM

How rare are the 8's with fluid steel barrels ?

CraigThompson 10-05-2013 05:47 PM

Barnett doesn't show it on his website yet !

He does however have a rather intresting Dickson 4 gauge punt gun on there !

Bill Murphy 10-05-2013 06:27 PM

The answer to your question is in TPS. There are very few missing stock books in the eight gauge period.

charlie cleveland 10-05-2013 09:44 PM

Mills Morrison 10-05-2013 10:22 PM

The fund is not that high yet. Actually, I really want a used but not abused G or E grade.

wayne goerres 10-06-2013 12:19 AM

I know that one of you are going to bite.

Bill Murphy 10-06-2013 10:21 AM

Let us know when the price is published. Mills may get his wish. Ps and Gs may come on the market in quantity.

I am not sure there has been a price established on that gun, I think it maybe part of a collection, not sure just what I heard.

Rick Losey 10-06-2013 11:56 AM

well, it looks like he had a tag on it, but it was not on his web site last I looked.

Craig Larter 10-06-2013 12:06 PM

I was told that the consignor and the dealer had not yet come to terms, re: valuation and selling price. As soon as they do come to terms the guns will be priced. Based on who I saw handling the gun, I it will ever make it to the web site in my opinion----I believe it already spoken for. But we can dream!!
