Restock of a Sterlingworth 16g.
5 Attachment(s)
Here are some photos of a Sterlingworth 16g. that I finished a restock on about a year ago for a local gentleman. Originally he was going to give the checkering to a good friend of his. But he is pretty much retired at this point and not taking anymore work. So, the gun came back to me to complete the job. And I could finally get photos of the finished gun.
The piece of walnut was sawn about 30 years ago from a very old tree in the Buffalo area. It is absolutely beautiful. Not too crazy for a Sterlingworth, but nice enough to set it apart from the rest. Attachment 27337 Attachment 27338 Attachment 27339 Attachment 27340 Attachment 27341 |

Rick, thanks. Will I see you this weekend at the Rochester show?

Stock looks great Brian. Wish mine looked that good.

That's a wonderful piece of wood Brian and it is befitting a much higher grade of gun (but looks really nice on that Sterly).
|
Yep, I like it. :)
|
Very nice work Brian.

That is great. Brian is restocking a DH 10 gauge for me.

well done.

Nice job Brian! I hope to have you doing a restock job for me in the near future.

I picked up a SW 16 last year that had been restocked with a nice piece of wood. It ia a Utica Fox and thus has 2 3/4" chambers. It has nice dimensions. The barrels were cut to 26 1/2' for some reason and is now choked IC/M. It is a little heavier than my O frame Parker 16's and Lefever G 16 . I use it when I want to shoot a little heavier load and then can reload the empties to shoot thru the older/damascus guns. It will make the trip to the UP in a couple of weeks.
Brian, that is a nice gun that anyone should be proud to own!! |

Very nice stock job Brian, as usual. And the barrel blue looks too good to be original too. If it were my gun, I'd go all the way with it and get some new colors on that frame to match the rest, but that's just me.
|
I agree, but this particular customer doesn't believe much in re coloring frames.
