I understand the cannon has a steel inner sleeve and a brass casing and when loaded with black powder is indestructable. This was a full broadside by the master and commander with no adverse effect except to the windows within a five mile radius.
These are made in the Missouri Ozarks. Just the thing for the boys to take to Tunica Mississippi for decoying ducks. |
What do you use for a projectile or shot charge?
|
Dean, its not mine and the person in the photo is not me, but how about cannister and grape for a load?
The pictured shot was a black powder blank. |
Hot time in the old town tonight??
Wow- might have to change the old Military satchel charge based expression of "Fire in the hole" to "Fire in the whole" da whole Eastern sector of Kansas- Mama Mia that's some hefty load- what F grade Black Powder- pyrodex? A cannister charge perhaps? Sorta makes me think about a John Belushi WW11 spoof movie- where the CO says "Let's go out and blow up something really big"!--:duck::duck::duck:

The locale is eastern Missouri, a little south of St Louis and along the Mississippi. Perhaps the gun is intended to recreate the siege of Vicksburg.
