10 ga recent find

This gun just surfaced and I was asked about its value. The fellow received it from his grandmothers estate but did not know it existed and has no appreciation for this "old gun". He asked me what it should sell for. When he sent me the photos it looks like a higher grade original gun in reasonable condition. Any thoughts?

I am new here and after looking at the topics you all discuss, I will be around for a while. Thank you.

It tells me I need a user name and password to see the pictures

Joseph emailed the pictures to me. It appears to be a very nice Grade 3 gun with better than usual condition.

That's a nice Parker 10 with great potential!

Very nice gun. Don't you just love it when they just surface out of nowhere.

Joseph that is a nice looking gun. If you want to get an idea on value you will have to be a bit more forth coming with pic's and information. Such as serial no's and all markings on the barrels and frame, barrel condition inside and barrel wall thickness.Conservitive est. without this info would be lo 2000.00 but could be much higher. Also better pic's of the wood (all of it).

The gun is in the Midwest and I am in Idaho but I have asked for more specific information.

There are a few buggered screws but on the plus side the checkering looks really nice and there doesn't appear to be any appreciable oil soaking in the head of the stock. A really nice and valuable Grade 3 Parker.

The gun is in the midwest and my brother, who took the photos and is getting me information out here in Idaho, will be visiting the guns owner this week end. I have a list of photos and condition items for him to get for me and you all. I would just like to hunt with it!

Joseph: Definitely a Grade 3 in what appears to be in it's original & untouched condition. The buggered screws can probably be fixed. The condition of the bores & barrels are most important. If the pitting is not too deep & the wall thickness sufficient the bores can be honed to bright. Dents can be raised & ribs relayed if needed. It looks to be a good find & $2,000+ seems about right.

That would be a fun dove gun!

I went ahead an traded for this gun last week. It is serial number 42916 with a 3 stamped near the number on both the water table and the barrel flats. The 3 is a grade mark I assume? The barrels are 32" and ring true. They do have a touch of light pitting or rust on the left tube. There are a couple dings on the barrel exteriors. The skeleton butt plate has some deeper rust so that was a disappointment. The dimensions are better than I thought they might almost be ok save for LOP. It may be my new goose gun if I can adjust to $4 a shot for the shells.

Just be sure to make every shot count.

If that is your first parker than I think you got a good one.
