What grade do I Have?

Recently aquired no. 51677 top lever fishtail. Seems to proceed no 51702 as first reported matted rib in the Parker pages. Not sure if its a 0 or 1 grade. Has a little floral engraving but has stub twist barrels. No letters or numbers on water table. Hammers dont quite match. Anybody have a hammer screw?

Tom Carter can make you a screw to fit

Submit that serial number to Josh Loewensteiner to be included in Parker Pages "Parkers Found" column.

Stub Twist makes it a Grade 0. Laminated Steel would make it a Grade 1.

Stub twist barrels are beautiful once refinished. They almost look like bernard barrels. Very nice find!

I had never noticed that pattern on Stub Twist barrels before.

Refinishing them may obscure that interesting pattern.

Mine looked like that before I had them redone. Minus that my gun is all original.http://parkerguns.org/forums/picture...pictureid=4347

Paul, please show us a picture of your barrels after refinishing.

Here's another, showing the difference. The top gun is a Twist barrel and the bottom gun is a Stub Twist Barrel.

I know a lot of people don't like refinishing barrels. I can only imagine walking into the local sporting goods store and seeing racks of these beautiful guns to admire. With so many different damascus patterns available it must have been some site to see. Every one is slightly different and puts a smile on my face just to admire the forgotten craftsmanship.

just my two cents...
