Trojan 20g. Restoration
7 Attachment(s)
This little 28" Trojan 20g. started out as just a complete action and barrels with a good amount of plumb patina and light pitting. There was no wood and the forend was completely missing.
I fitted a NOS parker forend (which was not a simple task by the way). It was intended for a 1 frame gun, so it had to be built up in some areas and worked down in others. A new piece of grade appropriate black walnut was made for front and back. New trigger plate and tang screws were fitted. What would come out of the barrels was polished out and reblued. And the action re-color case hardedned. Another "parts gun" back into service. Attachment 26735 Attachment 26736 Attachment 26737 Attachment 26738 Attachment 26739 Attachment 26740 Attachment 26741 |
Looks good Brian, did you do the case colors as well?
No, the case coloring was done by Malcolm Clark in East Haddam, CT. I have used him many times for coloring work. He does good work at a very fair price.
Very Nice ! more on gun ,lop ,barrel, choke, ect ect
I stocked it for modern demensions. Around 14-1/4" LOP with like 1.5" and 2.5" drops.
28" Barrels choked M/F. It is a early production Trojan with the rib extension. |
Very well done. Do you have any "before" photos?
No before photos. I thought I might have had one or two. But cant find them on the comp. Just image an action and barrels...
Very nice!
I probably should have documented the fitting of the forend iron. It was quite a job. But rewarding, being that it was the big missing piece.
Nice work Brian!
Looks good Brian. What dose Malcom charge to recolor your actions. I was thinking about haveing the little 16 ga (that you sold me) recolored.
Wayne,
Malcolm currently charges $170 to recolor a polished action. And that action on your 16 would not need much if any polishing. |
Thanks Brian. I am going to hunt with it a couple of times and then Ill give you a call and get his phone no.
I echo Dean's sentiments Brian.
Brian,
Very nice! Bringing back a basket case must be a true reward. |
Brian: who do you use for bluing.

Brian: You do great work. It is nice that you can show your work here. I'm sure you will be contacted by some members. Thomas
