Well my linder finally arrived today. I got home and it was sitting on my porch. It is a wonder somebody didnt steel it. The photos didnt do this one justice. It is asume. Attached you will find photo,s of no #1288 10 ga 2 7/8.

Ed Blake 05-09-2013 08:56 PM

That is some knockout wood.

charlie cleveland 05-09-2013 09:58 PM

one fine looking gun them boys made a fine gun... charlie

wayne goerres 05-09-2013 10:07 PM

To say that I was pleased with the gun would be an under statement. Cant wait to shoot it. Next week my 8ga should be here. I will post pictures when it arrives. Sorry it wont be a parker but 8s are hard to come by and expensive. So this one will have to do.

Dean Romig 05-09-2013 10:09 PM

WOW!! What a great gun! Murphy, eat your heart out!

Dean Romig 05-09-2013 10:12 PM

Uh-Oh... in the first picture - is that a hair or a hair-line crack in the wrist?

wayne goerres 05-09-2013 11:00 PM

Thank you dean. Your are correct. Looks like I will be sending this one back. What a dissapointment.

Dean Romig 05-09-2013 11:04 PM

That's too nice to send back... I would have the seller make a cash concession to accomodate a proper and invisible repair.

wayne goerres 05-10-2013 12:09 AM

Thought about that. But I don't no ho to send it to. The crack extendes well up into the comb. Dont no if I would trust the stock to hold up. Have to see what Kirby wants to do.

allen newell 05-10-2013 08:26 AM

What a shame.

Bill Murphy 05-10-2013 08:35 AM

What make is your new eight gauge?

Ed Blake 05-10-2013 08:38 AM

A good stock guy could fix that, no problem.

Yes, agreed, invisibly and permanently.

Drew Hause 05-10-2013 09:06 AM

Interesting Wayne. This is J.B. Patton's Daly, also marked 'Laminated Steel', and clearly Bernard II

More Daly Damascus here

Dean Romig 05-10-2013 09:09 AM

That's exactly what I was thinking Drew, but am not as knowledgable as you so I refrained.

I enlarged the picture of Wayne's barrels and my eyes popped

wayne goerres 05-10-2013 09:21 AM

I talked to kirby this morning and he has agreed to fix the crack. Says It can be fixed so you wont see it and it will be permant. My 8ga is a belgium gun. Only markings on the gun say W M More. Dont no much else about it yet.

Dean Romig 05-10-2013 09:23 AM

Great! Hope he is using the right guy.

allen newell 05-10-2013 09:30 AM

Want Much More

Richard Flanders 05-10-2013 10:12 AM

Good decision to get it fixed and keep it. That's as nice a Daly hammer gun as you'll ever see much less own.

wayne goerres 05-10-2013 10:57 AM

Are the Bernard barrels the same barrels everyone seems to be hunting for their parkers. And who is J B Patton.

Rich Anderson 05-10-2013 12:04 PM

Wayne I'm sure Kirby will make it right by you and getting it fixed VS returning it is a sound decision. I have had worse cracks repaired one on a 416 cal rifle that was cracked completely through the wrist. Never had a problem.

wayne goerres 07-03-2013 08:05 PM

Well my charles Daly Linder returned home today with the stock repaired. Kirby was correct the repair is invisable. They did a wonderful job on it and a Westly Richards arrived with it. Cant hardly beat that.

Dennis V. Nix 07-03-2013 11:11 PM

Gosh darn it, Wayne. I had my hopes up thinking about shooting that gun this weekend. Now it won't happen. Darn the bad luck. Maybe after you get it fixed you could send it to me to use this year on ducks and geese. I want to float the Niagara River in a kayak to see how well I do.

That is a beautiful gun. I am envious. the wood is lovely. Wasn't it you who purchased a 10 gauge Webley and Scott recently or am I thinking of someone else in my old age?

Dennis

wayne goerres 07-04-2013 06:07 AM

Yes that was me. That gun is a holy terrer on a milk jug at seventy five yards. she is full and full not to mention a little hard on the shoulder. By the way I dont think you will see any of my guns in a kayak.

Dennis V. Nix 07-04-2013 09:46 AM

Not a problem, Wayne. I don't think you will ever see me in a kayak either, especially on the Niagara River. When I get my Parker 10 gauge back to Colorado this fall I am looking forward to trying it on a Dr. Pepper can at 70 yards. Shooting experts in the Southeast prefer Dr. Pepper cans 10 to 1 from what I hear. Good shooting with your gun. It sure is pretty.

charlie cleveland 07-04-2013 10:03 AM

yes sir the doctor pepper canis the preferred target of the south...the number to beat now stands at 7 hits in the can at 70 long steps...any gauge and type of shotgun open to this event...and you supply any type of ammo you want to shoot up to the no 7 size shot...entry fee zero...prize striven for...lay claim to have shootiest gun in the world...so go out and get your cans and ammo for this great world event.... i dread hearing the report from the feared great shooter ray m... charlie

wayne goerres 07-04-2013 11:58 AM

Maby they will start a new event at the suthern. We could call it a pepper toss. We have more fun in the south.

ed good 07-31-2013 12:03 AM

the longer the crack, the more the epoxy. the more the epoxy the stronger the wood.

wayne goerres 07-31-2013 09:18 AM

I fired the linder a couple of days ago, nothing formal. Just stepped out the door and touched her off a couple of times. no cracks opened back up. What a rush. Waiting for another 10ga parker to arrive, G grade top lever 32 in barrels. Don't no what the chocks are yet. Price was right.
