SN 247
This showed up today on GA. I'm just window shopping but it may be of interest to someone here. Pretty early history piece if it is correctly advertised.

Jack, This gun is located about an hour away from me. The seller is an excellent fellow with a full gunshop. The website is: www.wildwoodguns.com
You can find this gun and other Parkers on the site. The barrels on this one though have been cut. I'm planning a visit to his shop next week. Sean |
Sean: Too bad about the barrels. Even so, it is the 247th Parker made from the inception of the company. I wonder how many of the prior 246 still exist?
Thanks also for the link. I will have a look but I really should not. Trouble with "window shopping" is every once in a while you can't resist and you know you really don't need another and so does the long suffering better half. Cheers, Jack |

Indeed, if the serial number is correct this would be quite a piece of history. I'll take some pictures of the water table when I visit. Now that I'm an educated Parker owner.:) Not smart mind you, educated... |

3 DIGIT PARKERS
Hey Jim: I have # 0229 with 28 inch uncut barrels. Anyone here know why the zero pre-fix?
Best Regards, George |
Number 0 (zero)As First Number Of Some Serial Numbers
George ... I have no idea why the zero (0) was used at the front of the serial numbers ... Austin Hogan and others may know ... And the reason may be in The Parker Story as well ... And Please check your PM's for a note on another subject.
Best regards, Jim Kucaba |
My guess is the feds. may require a minimum numerals in the firearms' serial number.

Serial Prefix
We don't know anything for certain, but the longest lived theory is that the contractors identified their work by the 0 or B before the serial number.

Brain cramp, thought the guns in question where repro's
|
I happen to possess #241 and used #89 in a trade for a VH 28 at last year's Southern.
