That beautiful! Thanks for posting Bruce. Looks like Laminated Barrels. That presentation is wonderful...

Mercy! Wonder what's missing from the "pistol grip" shaped area, and also the "forend shaped" area in the lid? I can't imagine there being anything else, but it appears there was.

Thanks, Bruce.

Thanks, Bruce.

The "forend" recessed area in the lid allows the lid to be closed completely.

Or Stub Twist, given the age of the gun.

There are components/accessories there which are not common. That would make an interesting PP story with full explanation as to what all is. It looks like a full reloading kit, with storage for powder/shot/primers and wads???? Engraved storage silver containers, which the script isn't quite legible, at least on my computer.
Is the ownership provenance known Bruce?

Yes. Made by the man who did all those brass cleaning rods and was a trap shooter. I have a couple elsewhere and will find his name.

If you aave the picture to a file, you can open it in an editing program and see more detail. The pistol grip looking cavity actually contains a tool with a pistol grip shaped handle that fits into the bottom of the cavity and is part of the tool that is to it's upper right. Also, I didn't try to enhance it so the script details are not totally readable, but it is obvious I think that the large round silver tools are not engraved (even though some of the containers are. They look like they have a glass or plastic cover that is labelled in script. The script extends over top of some of the red pull tapes so they must be under a display cover of some sort.

It would seem it is a 10ga. by the wad cutter, the containers to the left say, maybe, Washing Snale, Drying Snale, Oiling Snale. Not sure on the Snale term??? Wool mops for those needs?

I thought maybe snake but couldn't read it well enough to tell.
