1902 Parker Brothers 12 gauge double
I have a friend who has a 1902 double barrel 12 gauge Parker Brothers shotgun. Serial # is 112,310. It is marked titanic steel. It has a hunting dog on each side of the breech and four ducks on bottom of breech. Wondering what the value would be.

The value of a 12 gauge Grade 3 Parker is based primarily on the condition of the gun and if it remains in its original configuration, e.g., barrels have not been cut and screw heads are not buggered. Hi def pictures would be necessary for anyone to estimate a value on your friend's Parker.... having it in hand would be even better.
As a friendly note, any mention of it going up for sale is strictly forbidden on this website. |
Will try to post pictures tomorrow, thanks.

I was just given a number of antique guns one of which is a 1902 Grade 0 hammerless in what I believe is 16 gauge. It is in absolute mint condition. It is Vulcan steel marked 3 superscript 8. This gun is going in the vault! I can post pictures if helpful but I’d like to have some idea of its value.

Here are some pictures of the gun listed in my previous post.

It may be “mint” but it’s not original. Those case colors were the result of the cyannide method of color case-hardening, a process never used by Parker Brothers. There may have been a period during which Remington Arms may have used the cyannide method but I believe it would have been after WW II and they stopped the production of Parkers when WW II broke out. So, any way you look at it they are not original. What is the serial number of your Parker please?

Thanks for the info Dean. Sad to hear the gun is not original. The serial number is 113102. I assume since it is not in original condition that it would negatively affect the value.
|
I'm sure it's in better condition than it was before the makeover.
If it were all original and in that "mint" condition it would be worth three times it's refinished condition. . |
It is newer than 1898, so technically it is not an antique. It is likely delgrego restored.
|
It’s about a 1902-3 gun.

Arlene's post has been hijacked, but we would still like to see the pictures of the Grade 3.

I see that. I dont know why people do that.

Stan, it is customary to start a new thread when diverging from the original topic of the thread.
That from a guy who has admittedly been guilty of the same. . |
Pictures of the Grade 3 please.

It looks like Mr. Riley's gun is off face by quite a bit and the top lever is well left of center. Sorry for commenting on the other gun but he hasn't been started a new thread.

Arlene's posts were six years ago.

Arlene may be a bit grey in the gills by now, perfect for the rest of the posters here.
