"0000" Frame .410 on GB
I suspect that many of you have seen this already, but since there was no thread on it, here's the link.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...=489595026#PIC I have no connection with the seller or this shotgun. |
Amazing . . . another 0000-frame BHE with DHE engraving -- there's now at least two in existence.:bowdown:
|
Kenny needs to buy this gun so he can let me shoot it next year at HHH.
|
And a Prototype explains the engraving.

Well I'll be... |
Really??
Is the OOOO frame different in size than the OOO frame?
|
I saw it first thing today...If the gun was double triggers....I would want it! It is a nice gun though...(-: I am still looking for a PR-BHE double triggers........... SXS ohio

What exactly is the difference between the 000-frame Repro and the 0000-frame Repro?
Seems to me that I read somewhere that the only difference is the fourth zero stamped on the lug and that the firing pin spacing is the same on both. |
Wow- That would be amazing. I would also use the word misrepresentation but I must be missing something.
What is the purpose of calling it a 0000? |
Create scarcity?
|
So far, just rumor as far as I know.
Maybe Richard Skeuese will come on and shed some light... |
really nice little gun...
|
Sorry, guys, there is no 000 frame Repro. There are 00 frames and there are 0000 frames. This looks like a 0000 frame. Most 00 frame .410 barrels are stamped 0000, causing confusion. You must measure the pin separation to determine which one you are looking at.
|
Bill, what is the pin separation of a 0000-frame Repro in 16ths of an inch?
|
What do you think this one is worth, or should I say, what will it sell for?
|
Not knowing the reserve and how bad a bidder might want it, the possible hammer price is unknown? If it was started at 10K with no reserve I would guess 17 to 20K and maybe even 25K if two bidders get going on it. If I really wanted it I may have bid 17500.00 I would say 20K as it solid value in todays market. Maybe his is conservative but that's my thoughts. The gun should have different engraving than standard D style...this is a negative for me. Anyway if the gun had double triggers and correct B engraving or something special I would be more interested in it for my DT repro collection....Maybe we will see a winner and final sale price? Richard Skeuse is a great guy, always been helpful when asked. I would like to see him get the gun back in the family! thanks all SXS ohio

I have done a bit of research on pin separation of these small frame Repros:
My discoveries are - The pin separation of my 00-frame Repros is 15/16" George Purtill graciously measured the pin separation of the Lt. Gov. Roy Wilcox 000-frame .410 at 13/16" I contacted the seller of the 0000-frame Repro, subject of this thread, and he told me the pin separation of his gun is also 13/16"... same as an original Parker 000-frame .410. |

Here's a pic of the subject of this thread's serial number. It has been reported here on the website, as well has others, stating that there were only 9 .410 BHEs ever built, this gun's serial is B410-0052 . . . how do we explain that?
|
I think the 9 figure is low and the 52 figure is high. However, quite a few 0000 frame guns were retained by the Skeuse family for later finishing. Dean, Geoffroy Gournet and I measured the pin separation of the 0000 frame guns at the Allentown show some years ago and arrived at the same conclusion you did. The 000 and the 0000 have identical pin separations.
|
Maybe the run started at 0050 ???
|
Bidding is at $12,000:corn:

The DHE engraved gun on gunbroker has a reinforcing screw through the forend, where the original .410 Parker does not have this. Interesting. I wonder whether the production 0000 frame .410s have the reinforcing screw?
|
It is interesting - the bid is up to $13,999. reserve not met. It looks like two dealers are bidding so far:
Tommy Guns A+(617) Ironmen Arms A+(411) |
Who owns the gun?
|
Seller:
gyscott Marco Island, FL 34145 |
Thanks Billy
Is he a dealer or PGCA member? |
Don't know. That is all it says. Billy

But does the production 0000 frame .410 have the reinforcing screw? I don't have access to one.
|
Bill raises a good point. Parker made BTFEs did not have the reinforcing screw.
|
Only on the 000-frame .410's... all others had the reinf screw.
|
I'm still wondering whether the production 0000 frame .410s have a reinforcing screw like the prototype does.

Show me one so I can see. |
I'm not referring to a 00 frame .410. 000 frame .410s don't have reinforcing screws. As I have asked several times, "Does the production 0000 frame .410 have the reinforcing screw?"
|
George, there are 00 frame Parker Brothers .410s. I have only seen two, but there are probably more. The Cliff Green BHE .410 is built on the 00 frame, and the K.C. Miller VHE .410 skeet is built on the 00 frame.
|
Bill- I am a long ways from my TPS. Was the Cliff Green BHE a combo 410/28 by any chance?
|
That's the one. And the K.C. Miller VHE skeet was owned and shot by the first person in NSSA skeet to run 100 straight in registered competition with a .410. Unfortunately, it is thought that K.C. was shooting an Iver Johnson Skeeter at the time.
|
This gun is at $15,250 and reserve has not been met. I am getting close to turning loose of my VHE .410 Skeet if the price gets much higher on this one.
