Addieville Sporting Clays Fun Shoot 12/14/14

PGCA Members and non-members are cordially invited to a fun shoot at Addieville East Farm Sunday December 14, 2014. The sporting clays course, one of the best in the North East opens at 9 am.

Arrangements have been made with Addieville for PGCA Members and non-members to shoot the course.

PM me with any questions. This is a fun shoot and opportunity to show off your latest/favorite Parker and/or other double and meet/greet fellow PGCA folks and guests.

BYO lunch etc.

allen newell 11-11-2014 07:53 AM

Please respond to this message if you plan to attend the clays shoot. I've given the folks at Addieville a rough number of attendees, but I would (and they would) appreciate a firmer number to plan for.

Thank you and looking forward to seeing everyone at this fun shoot.

Jeremy Pinsly 11-12-2014 07:28 PM

I'm in!

Larry Frey 11-12-2014 07:49 PM

Allen,
I'll be there as will Deb if the temps are moderate. I have tickets for the UCONN mens basketball game in Hartford that day but I don't think I'll have any problem talking my grandson into taking them off my hands.:)

allen newell 11-13-2014 09:48 AM

What about Edgar, Dave S., Dean, Brian D. etc. etc? George P. ? Frank ?

Dean Romig 11-13-2014 10:05 AM

I think Kathy and I will be there also... weather permitting.

allen newell 11-13-2014 10:09 AM

I think it's weather permitting for all of us. Hopefully, the weather will hold.

Robin Lewis 11-13-2014 10:26 AM

Count me in too.

Question, I have two friends that don't shoot but are interested in giving it a try, my I extend an invitation to them? I don't want to disrupt anyone's shooting but this might be a good introduction to sporting clays for them.

Dean Romig 11-13-2014 10:29 AM

I don't think you could find a better introduction to SC than this group.

allen newell 11-13-2014 10:43 AM

Go ahead Robin, they're absolutely invited!

Steve Cambria 11-17-2014 08:45 PM

I respectfully disagree, Dean. The best introduction to SC is to meet him in person! FOX NATION is in!

Allen, if you wouldn't mind, I'd be happy to roast a few chestnutzzzzz.
Tis the season as they say in "Merry Meridian."

PS---If Travinski and Cronin dare to show, I'll consider risking the onslaught of the paparazzi and shoot a Parker. :corn:

:biglaugh: Good one Steve!

allen newell 11-17-2014 09:33 PM

looks like around 20 participants for this fun shoot so far.

Chris Travinski 11-18-2014 11:36 AM

I'll be there, I'm sure Frankie will come also. Steve, don't forget my CE, I'd appreciate it if you clean it before you give it to me.

Steve Cambria 11-18-2014 02:24 PM

Oh, crapola!! Now I have to go find a Parker. What time does K-Mart close?

How interesting it is, that disciples of one or the other maker often lust for and go after a FOX

Dean Romig 11-18-2014 03:58 PM

There are no FOXES in my menagerie Frank.... not that I would refuse it if someone wanted to give me one....

Frank Cronin 11-18-2014 03:58 PM

See you there! Are we shooting in the same squad Stevie?? I'll show you my Sterlingworth "Pin gun". You know, the one that looks like a Parker? I bought it at J.M. Fields before they went out of business. .....

Chris Travinski 11-18-2014 04:48 PM

I have been dying to join the Fox club but Steve keeps telling me no, pretty selfish if you ask me.

Frank,
You can't be serious! Between you, Craig, Paul, and Steve all the best Parkers in the Northeast have been bought up. I shot a round of Sporting at Vintagers this year with a couple of serious Fox guys who will go unnamed and you guessed it, they were both shooting Parkers.:)

Frank Srebro 11-18-2014 06:52 PM

Yeah Larry, that was a tongue in cheek comment. There's a story & promise in place on Steve's CE, from Hausmann's this past summer. I agree, some of the Fox boys have been finding nice Parkers of late. Not me ..... but if anyone wants to move a nice original 20 bore Parker with 28" tubes I'd sure appreciate hearing from him. :)

scott kittredge 11-19-2014 08:18 AM

I will see how the duck season is going here in NH. If its slow ,maybe I can catch a ride with Frank C. and go to the shoot too. Scott

Steve Cambria 11-19-2014 03:04 PM

Sounds good, Frank. In the spirit of the holidays perhaps we can make room for Travinski....for ballast of course. Hope you can make it too, Scott.

If I know Robin, he's already printing off another Fox/Parker Love Fest tee-shirt!! I do feel sorry for his two buddies. Talking about a baptism by fire. One day with this crew and they'll be pawning their guns and heading to the nearest golf pro shop!! rotf:

LARRY: Serious Fox guys shooting Parkers? Hearsay. 90-Proof fiction, I assure you!! I'd have to see pictures to believe that one.

Larry Frey 11-19-2014 06:50 PM

Steve,
Check your camera. You took some pictures right behind the fox tables.;)

Steve Cambria 12-10-2014 11:33 AM

I'm assuming the dress code for this Sunday's sortie will be SPORTING FESTIVE with a slight preference towards UGLY XMAS SWEATER???

Sweater courtesy of the George M. Purtill Collection.........:bigbye:

allen newell 12-10-2014 01:22 PM

Dress for the occasion is casual. Breeks and other assorted regalia not required for this classic hardware store gun event. See you gents Sunday at 9 am.

Dean Romig 12-10-2014 01:54 PM

Oh Nuts!!

Now where am I going to find a "hardware store gun" at this late notice??
I may as well stay home - all I have are nice Parkers. A Fox would be a decent hardware store gun but I don't have one of those knock-offs.

allen newell 12-10-2014 04:16 PM

Dean, the gents that I regularly shoot clays with break my stones about my so called "hardware store" guns, and while it is true that many Parkers were sold via these stores for years, they're just a bit jealous that I (we of the Parker community) hold these doubles with near reverence. Anyway, no offense meant by the term. The weather for Sunday's clay shoot looks decent and hopefully we'll have a good turnout. Hope to see you there. Wish I had my GH Damascus back from Brad to use, so will just have to settle with another run o'the mill hardware gun! OMG

Chris Travinski 12-10-2014 04:41 PM

Steve, I hope your going to shave your chest if you commit to that sweater. Too much rustling in the breeze might throw off my game.

Jeremy Pinsly 12-14-2014 04:07 PM

Allen, thanks for setting up today's shoot. Was nice meeting some new faces and shooting with you. Couldn't have asked for better weather!!! Let me know next time you come to Addieville...

Dean Romig 12-14-2014 04:15 PM

We had a great day shooting and visiting with everyone! Weather was excellent... must have gotten into the mid-forties in the sun but the shady areas weren't so nice to stand around in waiting to shoot. Great fun anyway!

The number of pheasants running around the place, dusting in the dirt roads and sipping from the trout pond was incredible. We should have paid for a pheasant hunt - we had the dogs to do it right.

....and we learned who our "dominant" shooters were

scott kittredge 12-14-2014 04:48 PM

And they were ??? :corn:

Dean Romig 12-14-2014 04:51 PM

Nope Scott.... not goin' there :rotf:

Chris Travinski 12-14-2014 05:17 PM

I didn't see Tool Man miss a single target!

Larry Frey 12-14-2014 05:57 PM

Chris,
All his Fox's were probably in the shop for repair and he knew what would happen if he showed up with one of his many Parkers.

Chris Travinski 12-14-2014 07:32 PM

Now I know how he felt on senior prom night............stood up!:rotf:

Dave Suponski 12-14-2014 07:45 PM

Ya Chris....He seems to do that a lot.... As usual it was great seeing and shooting with everyone.

Dave Suponski 12-14-2014 08:01 PM

Did anyone see Edgar? I must have missed him......
