My Old Beater Shot Gun

14 Attachment(s)
My grab and go gun for when I need heavier and long distance loads. I've had it for a lot of years. I've worn off the remaining case colors and the bluing on the trigger guard.

I refinished the stock myself and had Dale Edmunds re brown the barrels; they were dingy. Original chokes at .042 and .040, 12ga. The chokes, chambers and bores have not been messed with. Number 2 frame , 30" at 7 lbs 10oz. Mirror bores. Shown in an A&F vc case.

There are a lot of these available, they make a nice field gun. Never misfired, double fired, failed to eject, nothing ever wrong. Tight on the face and lever right.

These are readily around for others to consider and generally are not costly as Parkers go.

Well I don't know if that gun qualifies as a "old beater gun". It actually looks like a nice used Parker. It's one that any Parker enthusiast would be proud to own. Nice gun, thanks!

I may have to upgrade my gun to an "old beater" status...

In my book, these are the BEST Parkers... guns that get used. Guns that get seen. Guns that take game or crush clays. That was what they were meant for. Not safes and paranoia over harm afield.
Congrats on keeping a good Parker working!

Best, Kensal

That's a very pretty piece of wood on your "old beater" Bruce.....

A damascus G-grade Parker and a Browning Superposed are the two best deals going in the shotgun world.

I will add a third. . . 28 gauge Parker Reproductions.

allen newell 01-28-2013 05:06 PM

Where is there a good 'deal' on a 28 ga Parker reproduction? Please define 'good deal' cause all I've seen are high $$$'s

Mills Morrison 01-28-2013 06:22 PM

$4,200 as opposed to $10,000 or so for a VH 28. Just watch Gunbroker, Gunsamerica and Gunsinternational.

My Dad has a Repro 28 which is a great gun.

Are you firing 2 3/4" Remington Hevi-shot out of that jewel? Just wondering what that is doing to the damascus barrels? PS. If that answer is yes, that gun is a tank.
