little squirl hunt

a friend called about 1.00pm this evening and wanted to know if i wanted to go squirl hunting...he had to twist my arm but i went...choice of gun was the parker 20 gh shells federal 7 1/2 7/8 ounce load...i too the granddaughters little daisey...well the hunt went well on the start with 3 squirls in the bag..now that 4 th squirl decided to go into a very fine patch of briars...we finally saw him and got him almost that squirl had died but it was hanging on to some vines in the death grip..i shook vines till i was wore out with no results finally my friend larry who was shooting a scoped ruger 22 said let me try shooting them vines well 4 shots later that squirl came tumbleing down...we went on and got 2 more making a total of 6..little daisey helped tree on four of the squirls and treed once on her on... and i was back to the house by 4.00and by 4.30 i was in a deer blind...did not see a deer but it sure was a good evening... charlie

Sounds like a great day out hunting. Nothing better. By the way, only 4 shots to clip the vines with the 22?.....would've taken me a whole box.

Be careful Charlie, one of those "high capacity" magazines in the ole Ruger could get you in trouble with the Feds.:)

no need to worry on that my friend owns the 22 ruger.... it was a good hunt but im paying today for looking up all them tall trees..my neck and shoulders are really sore today..i ve took some aleves but they aint helping to much... charlie

Charlie your incorrectly taking the Aleve. The proper dosage is two 200mg tablets washed down with 4oz of your favorite Burbon. I tend to lean towards Jack Daniels :rotf:

Pound for pound, Jack Daniels is the best. There are some others that are better, but those are very expensive and not cost effective. IMHO

I have found a substitute that is about the same cost and very good if you can find it. Buffalo Trace is the name of it.

Pappy Van Winkle is the best bourbon I have tried, but it is very expensive and is getting harder and harder to come by.

As Gracie Allen said

In those days the best painkiller was ice; it wasn't addictive and it was particularly effective if you poured some whiskey over it.

Mills Morrison 01-19-2013 08:16 PM

I am going to remember that. :)
