Tom and Charlie, I have to tell you what I saw yesterday up here in the land of liberals. Coming up River Road out of Washington after a lunch with a couple of my gunning buddies, a saw the ubiquitous roadside memorial of flowers and other knickknacks indicating a traffic fatality. As I got closer, I could see the sign attached to the bouquet. It read "DEER".

You are so Bill, only in the land of liberals would you see a memorial for a dead animal while only a few miles away in DC the crime victims are stacked like cordwood. Kinda sad is'nt it?:banghead:

Don't feel like that sort of craziness only occurs back east. Check this out! Colordao is not what it used to be.

Guess I don't know how to insert a link to a web sight. It is a story in the Denver Post about Boulder locals holding a candlelight vigil for an elk shot by a couple of cops.

This should get you there...

In Michigan folks cut the HQ off some roadkill deer! The only good reason for an elk vigil/wake is to bemoan not being the one whose freezer it ended up in...

“I know a lot of us have had a lot of anger, a lot of questions, a lot of uncertainty,” he said. “Tonight's a celebration, a celebration of the elk. We loved him. But I think he loved us, too, because he returned to this neighborhood.”

gawd!! what next?

Fella's the Boulder Elk was a three year in a row guest in that subdivison. These two rouge cops have now been arrested on several counts of poaching. The most damning of the charges is conspiring to kill the animal. There are text messages between the two cops spanning about a 24hr period talking about how they are going to kill the bull that night. They shot the animal in someones front yard in a residential area with a shotgun. The off duty officer was suppose to be on duty that night, but called in sick, so he could help his buddy when he called that the animal was down. He also has a side taxidermy business.

What it comes down to is these two are poachers Plain & simple. The residents had reason to be upset.

With all that said:

We refer to Boulder as "The Peoples Republic of Boulder" This is the city that outlawed dog ownership. You are your pets guardian in Boulder. Even Feinstien would find herself a conservative in Boulder.
