Bruce..Great photos. But i have to ask. Where did you get that four gun display stand?

Bruce Day 10-21-2009 10:38 AM

Dave,

Dick's Wood Products
69424 Lake Street
Union, MI 49130
269 641 5750

I have two of them, both 5 tier, although he will make up to seven tier. Mine are oak and cherry and anything other than oak he charges extra. They have two cross bars with studs and wing nuts so they come apart flat for transport. $60 or so if I remember right. Dick is a retired man and does woodworking out of his garage.

I'm still working on the photo techniques and I know I can do better if I take more time at it. Its an art to do good photos.

30" An interesting gun. Made in 1904 without a safety. Went back to Parker for addition of a safety, installed a Jostam sponge black/red pad, the 1910 bolt plate. I took off the fossilized pad, kept it and put on a Silvers. The stock numbers to the gun for a grade 4 but the channel indicates grade 3, however, it is all original including the cheek inlets, and has D pattern checkering on the grip. I surmise that the stock was finished in inventory as a grade 3 but when it was to be installed on a grade 4, Parker just added the cheek checkering. The gun was half of a pair sent to Los Angeles on special order. The other half of the order is a matching 16 Bernard and I've unsuccessfully looked for that for many years. 2" drop at heel and 7lbs 10oz for the 12. The books show only a few straight grip Bernards.
