Parker catalog appraisal request

2 Attachment(s)
I have just acquired a 1937 Parker catalog from a friend, and to be honest I don't know much about Parker catalogs. From what I understand this is the last catalog Parker/Remington produced. I would love to hear from someone who is experienced with collecting Parker catalogs who could give an rough estimate on what this particular catalog might be worth.

There are a couple small water spots on the cover, and one corner has a small dog ear. I would say the inside pages are in excellent condition, with no missing pages or tears. I have included a couple pics that might help.

Look at sportingcollectibles.com to find out what Pat McKune thinks they are worth. His prices are high, probably not negotiable, and he sits on them a while, but he has nice stuff. I think it's worth at least $325. Most are advertised for more.

Thanks for the info Bill. That is definitely more than I thought it was worth, now I feel kind of bad that all I did in exchange for it was some simple gunsmithing. It was one of those situations where he was thinking of what to give me for the work I did. He went digging around in some boxes, pulled out the catalog and said "you have a couple Parkers don't you?" Maybe I should go buy a lottery ticket too.

Thanks again.

I have seen them sell from $200 to $450. Bill is in the ballpark.

I didn't want to bring this up in my original post, but Pat is asking $475 for one with stains on the cover. To be honest, I would not sell my "Wirebound" for any less because I don't know when the supply is going to dry up. When that happens, they will be in the stratosphere. Very well said Bill, Cheers!

Forrest, If your friend happens to pull another old Parker catalog out of his box and it has a Clown on the cover, you will probably see Murphy get really excited...;)

Beware the Parker paper affliction, once you start, the hunt for more undiscovered double gun related ephemera never ends...

Best, CSL

Well said Chris.

Clown catalogs are a bit like Wood Duck posters. When you think there are more than a couple of them floating around, you find out that you have been looking at the same ones more than once.

There's a 1937 wirebound on ebay right now and I have the high bid. I love competition so have at it.

there is a Parker story on ebay also at $350.
