AHE pistol grip cap

What material is the surround of the gold pistol grip cap ? Are these available ?
How is the cap attached to the stock ? I am having a custom stock made and want to keep the original stock as is. Thanks for your help. Tracy Pellett

Grades 5 and higher have a screw under the trigger tang that holds the cap on. They have also been seen with a screw in the cap itself. As for the material I do not know.

Measuring a VH pistol cap it looks like it’s the same outside diameter and the same material . Are repo of those available ? Randy thanks for your reply . My serial number is 3718 above your gun .

Don't know about availability but I would think the odds are slim of finding one. They can be made as evidenced by this one which was made for an upgrade project.

The cap is the normal bakelite cap with a gold inlay put into it.

The inlay is riveted to the cap with two pins.

Earlier guns used an expensed screw to retain it to the stock. A brass machine screw.

Later guns had a post with the screw from under the guard as Randy shows above.

Anything that is used would have to be custom made.

If your stock maker does not know this, then they have not seen enough Parkers.

Randy , thanks for the pictures . I took the cap off mine and understand how it is put together.
Brian , thanks for sharing your knowledge . And you are correct my stock makers are not familiar with Parkers but they can have me a stock in 16 weeks which at my age is more important . I’m hoping I can get a correct cap made to make it look like an “A’. Any advice or help I can get is greatly appreciated. Tracy

Is that on one of the 34” guns you had put together ?

No Craig it is not. It's on the 32" Washburn upgrade to an A1S.

That’s the one that you sent me the letter and it was supposedly made to go to the Philippines originally ?
