Ok folks, it's almost that time, how about some cheer me up let's get ready pictures of our best 4 leggers getting ready to go this season.. I sometimes have to cheer myself back up after reading the latest LODGH (pretty depressing at times) issue by doing this ..So let's see some of our new recruits in action. Here is mine latest getting a work out on Chukar.. May all have a safe and memory making season..

That's a handsome pup, John. The season will be here very, very soon, and I'm sending some Fall-like weather your way.

My Rill is going into her 2nd season, and I'm praying there will be birds. She's quite the character, and loves our morning walks with her bracemate, Aspen. These cool mornings get my hyped for hunting.

Gordons doing what they were bred for is stunning and timeless... Beautiful picture. Now where is Kenny (SXS Ohio) with that sweetheart of a Gordon puppy ??

Kenny shared photos with me. Here's a couple of his new pup, and of the ever tolerant Miss Ruby. I assume he's okay with my posting...at least, I hope so...

Well....this puppy of mine has been quite the ride since she moved in back in January. I named here Charlie because I could tell from the breeder's description, she is a firecracker! I WAS NOT WRONG! She can be hard and soft all at in one. But with that she is insanely bird crazy too! and will be a great bird dog. She is just over 9 months now and is getting to be a better citizen everyday along with her daily field work I see a bird dog in there. I am working with her as she is very bold and happy on her own. She does hunt in circles 50-60 yards as we walk the field trails but will get out 2-300 yards in a blink at least once every day. She did this last week in one of PA-s big, wooded game lands and I worry she will lose us? She did recall but it was concerning for sure. I hope I can get her to stop going that far out from me asap. In 7 weeks, we head for Felch in the U.P. Michigan for a 6-day 7-night stay for wild birds and for her safety she has to work closer. I will be only shooting properly pointed birds from a solid point. For some reason my pics are not loading? SXS Ohio

This is pup on her only piece of furniture she is allowed on. We never let her on our people furniture, so she took to sitting her but on my wife's poof foot stool. It's so funny to see her do this....(-:
Training is going well, Chris at Hi Point kennels says to get her on wild birds and continue the steady training. She has mastered to pigeon drill with Chris and we only have one more session this Saturday Cumming and he starts field trials. My plan is to take her to find some Woodcock in the Grand River Wildlife area her in Ohio. It's a wet area and is said to have good numbers of doodles for us to find. Wish us luck....SXS Ohio
