28 Ga RST at LLB

A PGCA member on another thread mentioned that LL Bean had a significant inventory of shotgun ammo including RST but that it was at pretty stiff prices. I called the store and asked what they had for RST. Person indicated they had some in 28 ga. I did not ask the price. As this was getting the other thread a bit off topic I decided to start a new thread and pass that along for those who might be looking for 28.
I am looking for 16 ga and they did not have any of that in stock. Oh well...if anyone has some that is taking up space I'm willing to pay.

That limited supply of RST 28 gauge lead was around $65 a box if I recall correctly.

I agree. And Bismuth is all that was left on the RST site not long ago.

Stephen Hodges 03-16-2022 06:21 PM

It is lead, and they only had a few boxes of it.

RST website lists their lead 28ga @$160/case, and it lists Bismuth @ $65/box.
If Bean is actually trying to market RST lead at Bismuth prices, they've either made a mistake, or Morris would probably have words with them.
The only place in Greenville Maine that sells ammo is Indian Hill Trading Post, and I have seen obscene prices on 16ga, and 28ga. I asked why, and was told that they sell very little, so buy very little and "People pay it". I kept my mouth shut but he knew what I thought of his answer.

There isn’t much in Indian Hill that isn’t priced higher than the competition.

Oh wait, they have no competition.
