In a dilema

So I was out shooting a round of sporting clays this afternoon when my Parkers stock broke in the pistol grip. This is a re-break of a previously, and poorly, repaired break from before I aquired the gun. It really stinks as this is my main clays SxS and what I had planned on shooting the Southern SxS with in a couple of weeks. I have a backup gun I can shoot, but man I love my 32" gun for clays. Anyone have any suggestions of someone that could do a quality repair?
Thanks,
John

I'm guessing that the previous repair would prevent a sound and durable repair a second time. Experts am I correct?

He is not always easy to deal with but I would call Dewey Vicknair, Vicknair Restorations, in PA. Donnie G. of Show Me gunstocks in MO can cut a blank from your original. Good luck.

You will be very hard pressed to find a solution to be able to shoot the gun in a couple weeks. To put it simply.

And yes bob, repairing a previously botched repair is not a good idea. Not that it cannot be done, but it certainly puts you behind. Of course, evaluation of the situation would tell for sure.
If it is in the cards, the absolute best option is to just restock it and be done with it. If you want to restock it, I would suggest maybe just cobbling it together by whatever means necessary for your shoot and then stocking it after. Or shoot your backup gun.

I had Brian restock my 20ga that had a break through the pistol grip. He installed a new straight grip stock and trigger guard. Brian does excellent Parker work! Somewhere in his photo album there are pictures of my gun.

John, look me up at the Fall SxS and I'll show you my gun.

My C grade "Charleston Gun" was broken through the grip. I put a brass plate on the right side of the grip and wrapped duct tape around the grip area until everything was held in place. I have been shooting her for several years without a problem. You do what you have to do until you find a stockmaker who meets your standards. Mills, ???
