Don't have access to my books. Need help determining frame size.

One is 1 5/8 and the other is 1 3/4 across.

Thanks in advance.

1 5/8” is a 1-frame and 1 3/4” is a 2-frame.

Thanks dean.

2 and 1-1/2 would be the same width by the way. Wood for these two frame sizes are considered interchangeable.

Right Brian. This is from page 45 of the Parker Identification and Serialization book.

What dimension on the chart shows the width of the stock at the front end?

I think Dean was trying to show that 1 1/2 and 2 frames are almost the same for the two measurements that arent the same wouldnt affect the stock size . Just my guess though !

Dean if im reading that right C would say a 1 frame is the same as 1 1/2 and 2 im confused

Bill Murphy 09-12-2021 01:25 PM

The chart says that both 1 and 2 frames are the same C measurement, 1 5/8". To get to 1 3/4" at the C measurement, you have to have a #4 frame. I don't think there is a measurement in the TPS chart that shows stock width.
