Ballistol on wood
I just purchased a can of Ballistol, due to the numerous mentions on this forum. I have seen a couple of mentions of using it on the wood in addition to the metal. How many of you use this on the wood and why?
|
I have used it on both metal an wood for years with good results. I do not apply direct. I spray on a rag periodically and wipe with that rag.

Same as Bob here.

Same here. I wipe the entire gun down with lamb's wool impregnated with Ballistol.
|
Forgot to mention I also use it applied to a mop for the bores.

Best stuff ever, use it for everything. If you read the info sheet you will see all of its uses including cuts and wounds, BUT DON"T and I repeat don't try it On cuts I did and it was like cauterizing a cut with a hot knife. I must admit tho that it worked after the tears went away. Again a great product.

Thanks for the replies. Excited to try the stuff (with the exception of wound care;)

I don't believe WD40 is intended or recommended for use on wood.

Nor guns.
When I wipe down my gun's metal surface I am removing any fingerprints or acidic oils from my sweaty hands, although I wear gloves. Just remember the blued steel of a gun is quite different from a wire nail. |
