VH with a Trojan Grade Stock
Wondering if I could glean a little insight from you guys. I recently purchased a VH grade 20 gauge, serial number 142004. One thing I noticed, is that it seems to have a Trojan grade pistol grip stock and not the grade stock typically found on a VH. Could this have been a repair or a special order for the lower grade stock? I have looked through pictures of the typical trojan stocks and it matches exactly. Checkering is identical with no grip cap and a plain black butt cap.
Thank you for your help. |
Maybe order a letter or pull the trigger guard and see what or if the number is on the wood

Most likely a non-factory replacement.

There is no reason that a V would be ordered with a Trojan stock (no realistic reason at least).
As dean posted, the stock was likely just from another gun. |

Could a Trojan stock have a grip cap and correct putt plate added and be reshaped into a proper or at least passable V grade stock? Just wondering! Hal |
Will also need to have the nickel shield inletted in the toe line.

And when Brian says "anything", here's an example: a replacement Remington pistol grip corrected to the lettered straight grip including the correct wrist size and all...NICE work, thanks Brian

Jim,
I forgot about that gun. It is a good example of a Straight grip conversion. |
How long ago did you do Jim’s conversion Brian?
