1 frame 12 PH

How common/uncommon, desirable are 1 frame 12's . I have been offered a PH 12 on a 1 frame with uncut 26" twist steel barrels. I do not know any more particulars than that. Going to see it tomorrow. Would seem to have been ordered as an upland gun in that configuration. Will post photos of course if I pick it up

I have a 1 frame 12 ph with damascus barrels very rare.

I picked up a 12 ga GH 1 Fr. with 26in Dam2 barrels last year as a walk in at a local gun show. Weighs 6 1/2 lbs, 14 1/4 LOP and 2 3/4 drop to DHBP. Letters as being ordered with "RH Cylinder" and "Lite". Stock book shows 120 #7 pattern Right and 240 #7 pattern Left, just what you'd expect. It weighs the same as my 1 Fr. 16 ga. and is my go-to gun for close bird work. I wouldn't trade it.

i don't think a 1 frame 12 is at all unusual

but- add in the 26 inch original twist barrels and I think you have an uncommon combination

seems we had a thread on these just a little while ago

I have a 1 frame 12 with factory 26" twist barrels choked .012 and .024. At 6-10 it is a delight to carry and the modern stock dimensions make it eminently shootable. I load it with 7/8 oz loads but have shot it with 1 oz. I think it would become uncomfortable with the heavier load on a 100 target course. For the guy that does not like the light weight of most Parker 20's, the 12 1 frames are a viable alternative at half the price of an equivalent 20. I certainly like mine. One of my shooting buddies threatens to steal it every time I have it at the range.

I have a 1902 DH 12 28" number 1 frame. If in the last two score years the white man had not wiped out all of the bobwhites in my state it would be my bird gun. Six pounds, fourteen ounces .005 R and .024 L. I was always a 12 gauge man. Did not like to cripple anything.

I have several 1 frame 12 gauges and don't think they are that uncommon. I do not own any original 26" 12 gauges though and would think they are less common.

I don't think there that uncommon. If memory serves the keeper of Parker records has a 1 frame two barrel set, now that would be a rare find.

If I'm not mistaken the "keeper's" gun is a 1/2 frame.

Yes it is Daryl. And a very nice one to boot.
