If you had $10k?

If your an avid upland hunter and had up to $10k to buy a Parker, what Parker would it be? i.e. grade, condition, hammer/hammerless, barrel length, barrel type (damascus, titanic etc.), chokes, pre or post Remington. Just thinking...

How will you use it?

MARK KIRCHER 12-14-2016 08:11 PM

20 gauge DH (yes no ejectors) 28" DT -splinter -skeleton - pistol grip - hammerless 0 frame -medium condition but honest. Solid engraving and checkering with bumps and bruises from its previous travels. Pre-remington with titanic barrels, Mod/full -

I am completely biased - as that is my upland gun (15+ years) and while it did not cost or may not be worth 10K I would not trade it or sell it for more :)

33 days till Mearns !!!

I'm right there with Mark but the presence of ejectors wouldn't bother me but I would insist on a straight grip and more open chokes.

an avid upland hunter
Pretty broad category -- New England grouse hunter, plantation quail hunter, Dakota wild pheasant hunter.

Maybe a nice late Remington two-barrel set would fill the bill.

I should say 60% of my hunting is quail/chukar/grouse over my Llewellin setter. 20% mid-west pheasant and 20% sporting clays. My go to gun now is 3 barrel 20/20/16 Repro and have a few other sxs guns, including a 12ga hammer Parker (4th generation owner since new) and a couple Win 21's. Now I have a hankering for another Parker and am flexible to what it is. So just checking with members to give me some ideas for the next gun.

Jeez... That $10K is pretty limiting. I've got to admit to champagne tastes and a beer budget...
That being said, a 20 or 28 gauge with 28" DD Damascus barrels choked Cyl/Mod and with twin ivory beads. It will have a straight grip of 14" LOP with 1 3/4" DAC and 2 3/4" DAH with a skeleton steel butt plate. Naturally it will have amazing Circassian walnut with marble cake light and dark figure. Oh, did I mention it will be an AHE with over the top deep relief engraving?

I just have this gnawing feeling that $10K won't quite cover it.

16 gauge hammer gun with fish tail. 26 inch barrels improved cylinder and modified grade what ever 10 would buy.

Another vote for a DH 20ga , 28" cyl & mod. Original condition, pg ,sf ,sbp , steel barrels , dt. It could have 26" or 30" , other chokes , dam. barrels and a straight grip. But I would like that SBP.
