GHE fitted with Pkr Repro Barrels Q1/Q2
 

I picked up a 1902 GHE Parker ser # 115216 that someone had fitted with 26 inch Parker Repro barrels by Winchester choked Q!/Q2. I had Brad Bachelder bring the barrels back on face as there was a very slight amount of daylight showing.. Anyway, Brad did his usual a terrific job.

All the info I could get from the seller was that it came out of a large pile of guns purchased in bulk. period. I got no further info.

On the chance that this once belonged to one of our PGCA bretheren, I would most appreciate knowing any further history on this Parker and what may have happened to the original barrels etc. thank you in advance

According to the Parker book it originally came with 28 inch damascus barrels. I

As I am not home to look in my book, tell us what gauge it is.

Edgar, nice to hear from you and trust you are well. It is a 12 GA GHE. Brad B. tells me he thinks it was restocked by Remington at some point. The wood is very nice and better than I would expect on a G grade.

I'm surprised it would have Parker Reproduction barrels considering the low # of 12 gauges made. Did they sell Parker Reproduction barrels separately?

No idea Kirk. The seller had no history on the gun. Based on the book, it came from Parker originally with damascus barrels. Somewhere along the line, the damascus barrels were separated from the gun and Parker reproduction barrels put on. They fit but we're slightly off face and that is what I had Brad Batchelder take care of. As far as I'm concerned. It's like having a new gun. Will be good on the skeet field And on woodcock when I go back to Minnesota next season.

I'm able to sit up and take nourishment. G's were known to have pretty nice wood.

Sounds like the best of both worlds, I almost never hunt with my GH 30" Damascus, in fact I've hunted with nothing but my reproduction so far this season.

Any pics? In my experience GH's do tend to have better then average wood.

I remember reading an article in Shooting Sportsman, maybe Guns Game and whatever in the late nineties and there was a story about the author who had (and I am not certain about this) a G grade Parker that he talked to Parker Repro to fit new barrels and they fitted them to the gun, maybe Richard S could step in here as I think the author talked to his father about the fitting. That's all I know.
