Charlie, no I have not patterned this load yet , but I hope to next week sometime .
will be looking forward to the results...i bet they pattern real good...always interested in 10 ga loads...charlie

At what distance do you pattern buckshot ? I've never had good luck with it, even with the buffer.
I have had real good luck with some 12 & 16ga #1 buck loads . I normally pattern out to Fifty yards . Chokes make big difference . I have killed deer out to 65 yards with #1 buck .

Thanks for sharing the results of the testing with us. Both Green Dot and Unique are good powders for use in the short ten. Interestingly enough I have used 27 grains of GD with an SP10 with quarter inch of filler wad for 1 1/4 ounce lead loads in the Federal hull. I will update the short ten reloading data sheet with this info.

Mark, how many of the shot hit the deer at 65yds ? I've tried the 10ga with 000 buck with no success. Maybe I'll try it with smaller size buck.
Paul , 4 hit him , 1 in the neck , 2 in the vitals and 1 in the ham . He was running and fell shortly after I shot.
That sounds like a great pattern. Did you use a buffer and how many #1 buck was used ?
