Early Woodcock Migration
3 Attachment(s)
Well oddly enough, my Star found some VERY early migrating Woodcock behind the house this afternoon. I had several around the yard last summer, so I wonder if these are the same birds???

Wonderful points Steve!! None here in Andover yet, that I or Grace have seen.

Keep an eye out dean with the warmest temps coming this week. I only saw two birds.
|
Yes, they are moving north rapidly. I found the first here in northern PA last week.

That first pic is a mighty stylish point, Steve--makes my heart pound!
The Ruffed Grouse Society has an online map showing the daily tracking of the woodcock migration. Check it out here: http://www.ruffedgrousesociety.org/w...n#.Vt9glH0rKt8 |
Flushed one this afternoon on our place, Ashland County, Ohio.

Had 2 Woodcock points on sunday in new york state

A few moving through NE PA on Friday.

Five male woodcock singing this morning along Royal River in Maine. Turkeys on the move and yelling at dawn. Lots of geese piling in, thanks to the southern folks for the hospitality you extended to our migrant wildlife
|
In Maine already? Looks like the RGS tracking page could use some updates! Some of those Maine birds need to get tagged.
