I am looking for a good recipe for 8 gauge plastic hulls for shooting clays. Also, I need powder and components that are currently available. Thanks in advance.:bigbye:

mills do you have tom armbrust book 4 and 8 gauge...there is lots of reloading stuff in there...heres a untested load but will not kick very much..you will have to play with the wads to get your crimping or your roll crimping looking good..use pete lesters post sugur crisp as a filler...he says dont eat them up...ha use alliant blue dot powder..winchester 209 primers....buy the italion plastic wads from precision reloading ..or 1/2 inch wds.. 1 1/2 ounce of lead shot...would use the fold crimp if it were me....this will be a very tame load in the 8 ga...below a 1 1/2 of shot you do not get good ignition in the 8 ga...use 35 grains of bluedot....charlie

Pete. Do you put the Cheerios under the shot or under the over shot card. I would think the cheerios would crush?

The nice thing about Cheerios, say you want to try a 7/8 load but you only have 1 ounce wads, drop a Cheerio in the bottom of that 1 ounce wad and load with 7/8 of shot. |
Thanks guys. I do have Tom Armbrust book. The problem is there is only one recipe for 7 or 8 and a lot of the powder is hard to find

Mills Blue Dot in 8 # jugs is on the shelves in Southern Va. Getting it to you might be complicated but if you can't find any let me know.
