What is your preferred carrying case?
Just curious as to what style carrying case you prefer for your Parker guns,
and why? Bobby |
While I have several of the classic LOM cases I prefer the cloth type of takedown case such as those from Boyt Harness Co. They are easy to stack in the car if your taking multiple guns to a shoot or on a hunt. If I'm taking hammer guns I'll use the LOM cases for increased protection.

I use about 3 dozen different soft cases for most all of my guns .
However I personally think THE BEST case of any kind on the market today has to be an "Americase" in whatever configuration one cares to get . |
I use the leg of mutton style case, The hard leather protects the gun.
When I go shooting I take a couple guns, and in the back of a Jeep Wrangler there is not a lot of room. The guns broke down and stored in the back fit very nice. A classic gun in a classic case, just seems right. |
I like the Boyt takedown cloth cases, but they are outrageously expensive. I have two and would buy more if they were cheap. I use Aries or Nasco cases for air travel, and full length soft cases to go to the gun club. I have an enormous Aries two gun, four barrel, aluminum case with wheels that I used to take to Louisville and Vegas. It was empty going and hopefully full coming back. Never fly to a big show without a big case.

I have a few vintage Red Head LOM cases for barrel lengths 28 to 32".
For sporting clays and use in the field especially to protect the gun in a duck boat, I use a leather slip I bought from England. This guy is on Ebay and I was able to get one less than listed on his website. Thick leather and thick wool interior for protection. I have been able to fit my 34" five frame hammer gun although it is a little tight. Very well made. https://johnshooter.com/subcategory/...ng/Gun%20Slips |
I use Bore Stories to put all of my guns in, rifles, pistols or shotguns. Great protection in a gun safe and fit nicely if you plan on putting them in a hard case for travel.

My primary gun goes in a Brady canvas and leather slip. My back-up (which I have never had to use) goes in a vintage leg-o-mutton.
|
I use the soft take down cases from Cabelas. They are made by Boyt. Also I slip the barrels and action in a gun sock before I put them in the case. Never a problem
|
For traveling I use an aluminum Americase that holds two double guns broken down and a fair bit of accessories and/or ammo. Haven't seen anything more indestructible yet. I also have a very nice Halliburton case with a cover that will hold one broken down double gun. It's a very secure case. For my own airplane I've taken to often using the short Boyt hvy canvas takedown cases. They're very easy to stow in a small plane.
