Ithaca 4E 16
We recently saw pictures of Russ Jackson's Ithaca Grade 2 Pigeon, and I shared some of my Grade 3 Lewis. Into my life today walks a stunning Ithaca 4E 16. All original with the exception that a new Ithaca repro Sunburst recoil pad comes with the gun, but not yet installed. Old pad has collapsed. Beautiful wood, and Ithaca's checkering patterns are second to none. 28" tubes that may be F/F(drat)
, but I didn't have choke gauge or camera with me. It is a little heavier than I prefer at about 6 3/4 lbs, like a 1 frame parker 16. Apparently, engraving patterns varied a lot thru the years, from what I could pull up off the internet. Were many 16 ga 4E's made? |
If a member writes about a new gun but doesn't post photos, even a few cell phone snapshots, does the gun really exist?

NOOOOO

Guys,
Harold Lee Pickens is a great guy! He just needs to remember his friends need a new gun fix. Got a new gun? How about sharing it with your friends? Mark |
and if we did not know Harold- we would not- ok -- might not - rib him for this
|
Mark's rule is similar to the one in our house. If I express an opinion, and my wife is not there to hear it, am I still wrong?
|
NOT, my gun yet, and owner did not want me to post photos. He has offered it to me at a very fair price, I was just inquiring about 4E 16 Ithacas, I have never seen one before, and my knowledge is limited to say the least. I was hoping to be enlightened to help make the decision. Heck, if it becomes mine, I guarantee you will see pictures ad nauseum--I will even let you shoot it!
To make things even more interesting, I was offered a "bundle" deal which includes a kind of unique little Lefever 20. So anybody fluent in Ithaca? |
I have just broke into my piggybank and am counting pennies
