For the love of Parkers

Just received my order of #1 shot Bismuth for hand loads to use in my 10 gauge Parker. That mini-jug cost just under $188 . It's my only option if I want to legally shoot waterfowl this season with said gun.Using the old Parker really increases my enjoyment of the hunt so to me it's worth it. However, I do not think I will be spending a lot of time at the patterning board. Salt shaker is for size ref

pick your shots :corn:

i had enough nice shot left to load for one goose and one duck hunt - assuming I shoot well.

If I was still a serious waterfowler not sure what i would do. I'd hate to shoot a pump

buy a old 10 ga parker withaverage bores if full choke have barrels reamed to open modified. then reload shells with steel bb shot or water ever ya ll like and shoot them ducks or geese without that high price stuff..these bb shell s in the ten will kill ducks or geese in the 50 to 60 yard range and with no damage to the gun s barrells .theres been several loads of steel bb shot from walmart thans been shot in my old parkers with wire twist.. damascus. stub twist. and plain twist barrels... no need to give up the old doubles on acount of this high price of enviromental metal... charlie

Charlie, I'm not quite clear what you mean. Could you try me again please?

Hopefully, RST and Nice Shot will work out their issues soon.

I have shot handmade bismuth 1 1\8oz 12ga for 20 years. It kills ducks and is very kind to my old guns. Very little recoil to damage the wood. I bought a case of TM but at 1300fps I bet the pressure is quite high. I only use the TM in my Super Fox. I plan to stay with bismuth as it works for me on decoying birds out to 35-40 yards.

Ok Charlie that clears that up. I have wondered about using BB gun ammo but never tried it. I'll pick some up and load them. Thanks for your help
