Looking for Chris Dawe

This is my first post here as a new member, although I have been lurking around here quite a bit the last few years. I currently have 3 repro's and hunt with all of them. Last night while carrying them down to the gun locker, I dropped my 20ga and broke the wrist of the english stock. from what I have read here this is something that happens with these stocks with the high figured walnut. I would like to get in touch with Chris to have the stock repaired and possible a new one made at a later date, as I live in Canada.

Thanks in advance, and thanks for keeping a great resource of information rolling for newbies like me.

Paul why don't you send him a pm (private message) I am sure he will get back to you.

Dean Romig 06-12-2013 09:46 AM

Paul, if you don't know how to PM someone we will walk you through it.

Paul Peterson 06-12-2013 10:01 AM

I do need some help with that. Please advise.

Click on SEARCH above and type in Chris Dawe then click on SHOW POSTS and open any one of the threads shown and look for where Chris Dawe has made a post. When you find it click on his name and you will see where to send him a PM.

You could also click on Members List above and click on "C" and look for Chris Dawe there but I find it takes less time the way I explained it first.

I have heard about this happening with the reproductions a lot. I have a forend that I am fixing up now from one. It was broken in half. The grain was flowing accross the forend! And whatever type of wood it is, it is soft.

Paul Peterson 06-12-2013 02:20 PM

After the repair I will be having a custom stock built as well!

Brian Dudley 06-12-2013 03:23 PM

Much better off. You will end up with better wood in the end.
