After missing my 16th straight at trap using Dave's VHE Trap gun I told him "I think I'll just go drown myself in the pond..." to which Dave replied "Do you think you can keep your head down that long?" :knowbetter:

Thanks Larry and the rest of you guy's I think.... I ended the day with a 69 out of 100. Two bird's short of third so I was kinda happy. But the high light of my day was shooting John's .410 skeet gun. That is one hard hitting gun! I am gonna post an album here in a minute for all to enjoy.

John's 410? Dave you know he has borrowed it from somebody :)

All the practice yesterday paid off. Scott can verify, I shot a drake mallard high overhead pass at 60 yards with my mighty 10, it was coming down near verticle and still showing some signs of life and I hit it again with my second shot . (Of course he also watched me miss an incomer at 25 yard up after the first barrel was a dud):crying:.

Scott got a decoying black duck. Getting out hunting today so late in the season with such warm temps was a bonus.

Yea - you and Dean shot up all my .410 reloads as well... Dean called my .410 a "pea-shooter" and you called it "hard hitting"..?? :)

Damn - all I know is I had to clean my little .410 when I got home from all your shooting - and now I'm down about 100 rounds of my .410 reloads...??!!!

:rotf:

:bigbye:

Now that the Parker is cleaned up - down to the reloading bench I go....

;)

John, Dean called it a pea shooter because he couldn't hit anything with it....:rolleyes:Maybe it's time to send Dean to the Rich Anderson Shooting Academy.....

Trick Shots

Thanks Pete for a great day and thanks to Greg Miller, who I met Saturday, for the good words about my shooting.
Those trick shots I do with doubles on skeet station 8 are the result of a different kind of gun fit. As I pick the gun up, and rest it on my hip before the call, both index fingers are parallel to the barrel axes. When I see the bird I point to it with both hands and the right finger goes to the trigger; I finish the mount and take the second bird.

Best, Austin

WOW! You're pretty hard on your friends... I'd hate to be on the 'other side'.

I'll have you know I finished 5th overall and both my skeet rounds were with my .410 Skeet-er and John's .410 VHE and, may I add, both are dedicated skeet guns. I shot miserably at skeet with my 28ga. Repro because of gun function failure. :bigbye:
