Toolman and I have always called this event the the Fox/Parker Challenge since we started this several years ago. Maybe we should be a bit more concerned with shooting better and not so concerned with who's name comes first on the damn hats. ......

Can't help ya there Dave.....
But there are others who can. We just need them to show up in good form and high spirit! And with plenty of ammo... and lots of practice under their belts. Winning doesn't just happen - it takes determination and LOTS of experience at the practice field. There's no way we can beat those Foxy Ladies without practice, practice, practice. Only then can the Masculine Men of Meriden prevail over the Foxy Fillies of Philly. ....ya, I just made that up but it sure fits, doesn't it. Bring it on Tool Man... :draw: . |
It should. That sounds like a great idea!! Adds to the bragging rights.

Team Parker took the Team Trophies last year.

Yes they did! I believe Team Parker beat Team LC Smith.
"Congrats to Team Parker for winning the Manufacturer Cup Challenge at the Northern SxS Challenge @ Rock Mountain!! Fred Verry, JD Shank, Larry Frey, Dean Romig and Jeff Kuss combined to win the beautiful Cup trophies. Well shot gents!!!" http://i1351.photobucket.com/albums/...psqgfyh5qd.jpg |
I wanted to clarify 1 item. The Manufacturer's Cup Challenge entry. You must declare what manufacturer you are competing for. We need to know at the registration desk to enter you into the scoring syatem. There is no extra charge to qualify for the 5 man teams. If you are one of the top 5 shooters for a manufacturer, you will be in the shoot-off finals and the charge for that will be $25. Thank You.

So my shooting gang did the main course at Rock Mtn this morning. There were nine of us and we broke into squads of 4 and 5. It was fun and casual shooting for eight of my friends but I had my CE Fox “Matilda” out for the first time since Hausmann’s in June and was doing a warm-up for the Northern S x S and the Fox-Parker Challenge. She’s an Ansley era gun shipped in 1909, and her #2 set of barrels are 30-inchers with both choked “Full” at 36 points each. Long ago she'd been in the hands of a distinguished Fox shooter and nowadays there seems to be some magic in this gun.
Just to show what can be done when shooting against modern/trendy competition sporting clays guns. Here’s our scorecard with the old Fox Matilda at 88/100 and a tricked-out Benelli and Beretta, and a Perazzi at: 75, 84 and 80 respectively. FOX RULES! I sure hope other guys and gals are out doing some practice. Only 4 weeks to the Northern S x S. http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/...pshpxstcbe.jpg |
