I’ve got a list of three or four . But the guy at the top of the list asked before I’d committed to buy the gun .

This is only the third 16 that’s been brought to my attention having chambers for a 3” shell . And I heard about all of them in the last three months . Two Parker’s and a Smith . I wasn’t aware such a shell was ever manufactured.

There are a number of 20s and 16s chambered for that shell. I have owned both a 20 and a 16 chambered that way. Foolishly both reside elsewhere now.

The big paper shells shoot great in them!

Here you go Craig. Both are vintage 16-gauge roll crimps and unfired, standard 2-9/16" on left and 3" on right.

That long-legged beauty needs to have its business end trained on a turkey's head not lounging around in a gun safe.

The late EDM (Ed Muderlak for those who didn't know him) coined the term "flying turnips" for the engraved ducks on some Parkers that actually look a lot like turnips with wings. We see them on a few Meriden Fire Arms guns too.... likely the same engraver.

I seem to remmember having heard the turnip thing a couple times before but I was thinking it was in the scroll pattern some such way . As to Turkey I made my peace with them a few years back. But I’m not adverse to popping one while deer hunting if the opportunity presents itself .
