When do you think you'll graduate to 28's Allen?

Well I do have a nice Beretta 686 28 ga over under. But a Parker 28 ga in any grade is still a bit over my pay grade.

Dean, I do have my grandfathers 16 ga VH that he bought in Boston in 1927 and hunted with for a number of years until it killed him. I inherited it from my dad after he passed and about 12 years ago I drove out to Delgrego's shop and met with Lawrence and Babe to discuss a full and complete restoration. A year later I picked up a practically new 16 ga VH that has remained virtually untouched since then. All new wood, case colors, new bluing etc. My plan was to hunt with it and leave it to one of two cousins who bear the Newell name. Thus keeping it in the family. But I'm told neither of them have any interest in keeping it. So I'm considering putting it on the market. For reasons I dont fully understand, I dont shoot it as well as my other Parkers so it just sits in the gun safe and it deserves to be used and in a good home. 28 inch barrels.
I need to take pics of it and write it up. I may need your help Dean in posting it as I've never been successful in posting pics here.
I should add that the reason I had a full restoration was that the original stock was oil soaked and punky, bluing was worn and case colors were gone. It needed full attention if it was to remain in the family.

Late development: I received a birthday call this morning (2/20) from my second cousin, Chris Newell who lives in Naples, Florida. We talked and in the course of the conversation I asked Chris if he would like me to leave him the 16 ga Parker VH fully restored as noted above. Chris was ecstatic and said he'd love to have it as he has his Dad's Baker 16 and knows how important it is to keep these great guns in the family. He hunts and shoots down there. So my problem or dilemma is solved.

I'm happy to help Allen.

I doubt I ever pony up the schekels for a hammer 20 but I would like another 16 hammer top lever on an 0 frame preferably grade 2 and 26 or 28 inches .

I finally found the 12 ga big brother to my 16 ga Poli. I love, love that shotgun. And now I love, love the 12 ga. Something about those guns just speaks to me. I shoot them better than anything I’ve ever owned. But, my wife also speaks to me, so I am moving along my Model 21 Trap to offset the cost. One lesson I’ve learned, whenever I sell a gun, I give my wife her “cut”. I’m pretty sure it’s legal to bribe your wife.

I have found new homes for a pre64 M70 220 Swift and a grade 3 hammer gun. Now I need to decide do I really need 4 16ga hammer guns? I doubt it.
